    1) Welfare would be temporary. One year and that's it. No exceptions.
    2) Mandatory drug testing, before, during and after receiving welfare funds. You get money as long as you're clean. And if you're found to be on drugs with 24 months of termination of welfare benefits, mandatory repayment of all monies received.
    3) If you can not identify the father of your child, no welfare benefits to unwed mothers. It's time "the brothers" started paying for the babies they're creating.
    4) During your one year on welfare, voting privileges are suspended. Voting rights will be restored when you're no longer on the dole.

It's *insane* to give voting rights to people on the public dole. They're going to vote us all bankrupt. Like Margaret Thatcher said, "The problem with socialism is that eventually, you run out of other people's money."
I LOVE IT!!! But I would add,

    5) while on welfare, you WILL work, either as a daycare provider for OTHER welfare families (this would be mandatorily monitored by CCTV for the safety of the children), or some similar non-technical work (making license plates? LOL )

    6) If you need to go back ONTO welfare (for ANY reason) the second and consecutive times WILL be repaid via your freeloading Earned Income Credit Check, which BTW you do NOT receive if on the welfare...

While we are on the subject of welfare......

can we also say that anyone who gets pregnant while on welfare is barred from future welfare?

(And can we also do something about our BS prision system? (Do they really need Netflix?)

How about letting welfare recipients come clean the houses of tax payers? I mean, they get a free check they should have to work for it.

              @2682nscovell:

Actually I wouldnt let one come inside my house if the streets were on fire... but hey thats me... Yes I know there are some good people on the welfare, but you cant say that all on welfare are not there for the free handouts...

That means all my posessions would be at risk of being liberated from my house... Ya, not worth the risk...

@ Klayton - right on brother. It's funny, I seem to agree with you on most things and we even have the same name.

The people on welfare should be on call to do anything. You take care of your children and can give them chores. I get joy from my children. Therefor, welfare recipients should do the things I wouldn't even want to make my kids do, because I get nothing from them except a burden. "Hey come mow the lawn. Go pick up that dog sh!t. Take this 4x4 and use this sand paper to make it a pile of saw dust, just so that you have something to do, besides screwing up any more." I guess you could call me cold hearted. But I'll tell you. I used to work in a real bad part of town and would stop at a gas station every night on the way home from work to get a beer, coke, or water, depending on my mood. There was a homeless guy there who had worked something out with the owner of the store. You get out and he says, " I'll wash your car in five minutes, for five bucks, and if you aren't happy with how it looks, you don't have to pay me." He had a bucket of suds, and a rag or two. But he didn't ask for anything. He offered something. You want it or you don't. I never wanted him to wash my car, but that guy got many lunches, and other things from me, when I didn't eat them that day, and could make a new one for the next. I came out of the store one day with a six pack of beer and a bottle of water and we started talking. I said, you can have this water or a beer, it doesn't matter to me. He thought for a minute and thanked me for the WATER. That is the kind of person that may have hit a hard time, but isn't a leach. He was making an honest effort to improve and fully expected to pay his own way. I have no problem helping those types of people. But even those types, I have a problem with the government taking my money and giving it to them, in the form of welfare. I should have the option.

Part of the reason for no looting is the culture of Japan, but Betty is right, part of it is they don't have the same racial makeup nor a welfare society.

My wife works in a grocery and hates what she calls "mothers day".... the first of the month when the welfare checks come in. The welfare recipients are the most rude people on the planet. The wife is especially angered by the things they buy, ice, pop, birthday cakes, expensive candies, steaks and lobster. After paying for their "food" with food stamps they pull out a wad of cash and buy cigarettes and/or beer.

I am not doubting the honor of the Japanese people, but have you seen the photos of the damage? There may not be much left to loot, or the media/government is not allowing that kind of news to be reported.

I was reading on MSN a story along these lines and it was reported even the drug rings have pitched in and given cash and people to help . They stated that at times like this we are all people and need help . This is coming from the criminals who sell/transport drugs , but will kill a family member for stealing from someone else .

                        @Klayton, Bull RE the constitution

While it may seem that it's the constitution that needs to be improved, I would submit to you that our fore fathers saw this coming from the get go:
Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.
                        - John Adams, October 11, 1798

I see the current entitlement culture, the liberal war against America, and a whole host of problems as stemming soley from the disentigration of our moral fiber as a nation and a culture.

@skiamekhe: I love seeing those quotes from our forefathers.

I still think one of the biggest mistakes they made was changing the vote from property owners to every swinging yanker. WHY? Well it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that the free loaders in ANY country/community will overpopulate the hard working people, and by giving them all equal voting, there is only one obvious outcome---> "Hussein" or voting for whomever promises the most free handouts...

Peggy Joseph: "I won't have to pay for gas or my mortgage anymore!"
                            Reporter: "Why Not?"
Peggy Joseph: "Because Obama is going to pay for it now."
                            Reporter: "With what money?"
Peggy Joseph: "I don't know, Obama money, hes going to take care of us now."

                            Enough said...

@skiamekhe: I agree completely. THe moral fiber is going away.

@Klayton - I agree: we're all talking about the same thing. It's just manifesting in different forms.

@Klayton - Perhaps, but as our ecomony transitioned from agriculture to industrial to technology, less and less hardworking folks were and are land owners in the traditional sense. On the other hand, I do agree that we need some balance between that and people on welfare voting to keep themselves on welfare.

I watched a documentary on Jim Elliot and Nate Saint last night, the guys who, along with others, were murdered by some indigenous peoples of Ecuador and whose wives later continued their mission to the Waodoni people. This savage tribe was killing itself into extinction before these women brought them the Word of God. One quote from one of the people really stuck out to me - basically he was saying that the chief cultural values of the Waodoni were that of self-reliance and autonomy, and that they had no sense of what it meant to put the needs of the collective before your own. He said this is very similar to American values and could be considered the extreme version of those.

The Japanese, on the other hand, are at the other extreme. They are raised from birth to see themselves as less important than the collective. While this certainly eliminates looting in the type of situation they are experiencing now, it also tends to oppress the individual in nearly every circumstance.

Our country was founded on three God-given rights as well as three God-ordained principles: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness balanced with Faith, Hope, and Love. As we began to dismantle the second set, the first began to mutate into the ugliest versions of themselves. First, we got rid of Faith; we eliminated it from nearly every aspect of public life. Second, Love began to erode and will eventually "grow cold" (Matthew 24:12). With this eroding foundation, Liberty and the Pursuit of Hapiness began to take on extreme importance, to the point that we no long value Life as a culture the way we once did. The 50 Million people who have been murdered in their mother's wombs since the early 70's can attest to that, as well as the "death panels" that Sarah Palin keeps trying to warn us about and that continue to try to push their way into our health system. Now, we are at a state where even the Liberty of some is taking a back seat to the Pursuit of Hapiness of others. You can have your freedom as long as I still get my handout to make me happy.

There's a third factor in this mix: the unending growth of the Nanny State. Can you really blame someone for protesting the removal of something that they've grown to depend on for their very survival (utilities, food, housing, etc.) when they've been conditioned all their life to believe that it will just be there for them? From Roosevelt's New deal, Social Security, and Medicare/Medicade to Dubya's bank bailout and Obama's unending stimulus programs and everything in between, our government has systematically replaced God in people's lives as the one who will suppply the needs of the people. What crack junkie in his right mind would vote to cut off his own supply of smack?

We here all know and expect that things will get a lot worse before they get better. I sincerely hope that you all are not only preparing for your physical survival in the coming meltdown but your eternal spiritual survival as well.
