  • Wheres the looting ?

Ok , by this time our low lifes would have looted/stolen half of Japan . I am sure it is happening ( on a small scale, hasn't made the news yet ) , but you don't see idiots shooting at the people trying to help them , stealing whatever they can carry and then whining they wanted McDonalds instead of Popeyes chicken .
I am ashamed at my country when I see how the low lifes respond to a disaster or when they win a major sports event . I love my country , but I find myself more and more embarrassed when I see how we react to certain events .
These people seem to be genuine in their thankfulness and appreciate the help being given . Wish it would rub off .

It's the entitlement mentality in this country. Give me my 'free' stuff!

Hmmm...how can I say this and still remain "politically correct"?

        I can't.

Here in the 'hood (where I live), you'll see the brothers walk into the 7-11, choose their "junk booze du jour" and walk RIGHT OUT, sometimes even giving a cursory nod to the sistah behind the counter. In other words, during happy, happy peaceful times, they're no longer bothering to pay for their "groceries."

That makes me so mad I could *scream* at the top of my size 14 lungs. Why am I standing in line, waiting to pay $3 for my eggs, when they're getting a free ride, rather than SPENDING the money that my government took from me and GAVE to them?

        <deep cleansing breath>

I can't say this nicely, so let me put it this way.

Multiculturalism has failed in America. In my town, I'm now the minority. The smart, well-educated middle-class people are having 1.7 babies and the dumb-as-a-mud-fence types are reproducing like little bunnies.

That's why I'm so hyper about looking for the "canary in the coal mine." I am not hanging around ghetto town when the stuff hits the fan.

@Betty Rose: you found the biggest flaw in our democratic republic... Sooner or later (read NOW) the entitlement babies who over reproduce will get to make all the voting decisions, which way do you think they will vote???

They will vote for whoever promises to bail them out.

I would disagree about multiculturalism. You don't see any crap coming from Indian or Asian cultures in this country. In fact, aren't asians making the most money?

Yep. They vote and the majority wins. Democracy is wonderful huh? Thankfully the Founding Fathers were smart enough to give us the Bill of Rights, and make sure that certain things can't occur even if the majority wants it. Of course, the liberals aren't fans of the constitution and they have been working to get around that for a while. As Pelosi said when asked if they considered the constitutionality of the health care legislation, I believe, "are you serious?" It's past time to fix the ballot box. Maybe we should make some standards in order to vote. It would be a nice start to lose your voting rights if you get any welfare of any kind.

@Bull: in theory you are correct, but when you put enough liberal judges on the Supreme Court and they were given LIFETIME appointments by our founding fathers, well, the Constitution just becomes an obstacle. To this day, I do not think there is not one bill of right (first 10 amendments) that has not been comprimised, turned over, misinterpretted, spun, or just ignored by liberals in our society.

2nd Amendment is the easiest example: the right to keep and bear arms will not be infringed. Now if you ask ANY English Major what that means, it is simple, the government under no circumstances can take away ones right to own a gun to defend themselves. But we as a society (right or wrong) have accepted we can take that right away from mental patients (and not psychos but anybody who has ever had ANY form of mental evaluation or problem) as well as felons (regardless what their felony was, example someone who has commit felony DUI is no longer eligible to legally own a gun to defend himself/herself and their family with said gun-actually carrying a firearm without documentation is a felony in most states-the list goes on and on).

My point? America is going to hell in a hand basket and it is because of liberals for the most part.

There is NOTHING wrong with a nuclear family (common still amongst Indian and Asian families). Yet our society frowns upon it, "you still live with your parents?!?!"

Liberals so proud of doing ANYTHING that is against the norm has made America the laughing stock of the world...

and to end, Hussein has proposed a NEW gun restriction today (so I need to do some research on that)...

@ Klayton - your right. It's hard to imagine improving on the constitution, but to see the way things have gotten twisted around, we could obviously have made a few more provisions.

The federal government was meant to be the least involved in our lives, while the states would do the most. It is the exact opposite now. That all came about and got underway through the decision of Judges, regarding interstate commerce.

This degenerate culture that is so prevalent these days is encouraged and provided for by the politicians, in exchange for votes, and when you have people who are in favor of it and participating in it, those are the type the government loves, because they are the least capable, and least likely, to keep the government in check, as was intended. I seem to remember something like, "the government will derive it's power through the consent of the governed." We've slid a long way brother.

And of course the "other" item which has been unsaid...

Race baiters in this country have told the minorities for so long they are put down by "da man" they have believed it. I won't mention names, but they have led a portion of our population to believe they are owed reparations and that segment believes "I'm gonna get mine!" Plus the traditional family values have gone away in some areas. Have three kids by different men and not a one of them around to take care of their responsibility? No big deal, just up your welfare check and move on. And there is no discipline involved in the raising of such, hence why some people act the way they do when a disaster strikes. I didn't act that way after Hurricane Opal since I had instilled morals and discipline and remembered I would have gotten by butt tanned by both parents if I was any younger. And lessons learned in the first 18 years of life tend to stick with you. But for some?

"I'ma gonna get mine! It's owed to me because the great great grandfather was a slave!" they will say. Somehow this makes sense in someone's world. It's not an entitlement mentality, it's brainwashing that's been going on for a long time. Tell a person long enough they are "persecuted" and eventually they will believe it. Show a person a successful member of their society and how they can and will succeed and somehow they turn into a "sellout." It's all about the brainwashing.

The Japanese people aren't rioting, looting or creating any kind of civil disorder. Like 2682nscovell said, it's about honor. It's about family values. It's about service to each other. A bushido code that has been instilled in the Japanese people for over a thousand years. Service, loyalty, honor and a whole slew of good things to have in your life. And this is why you don't see looting going on. And the lack of honor and self sacrifice in some people is why you see it in places like NOLA, Haiti and LA.

Something I posted up on another forum. The difference in Haiti and Japan and the current troubles therein.

Haiti was hit by a 7.0 earthquake. Roughly the energy of a 474 kiloton bomb was released.

Japan was hit by an 8.9 earthquake. Roughly the energy of a 592 megaton bomb was released.

On the scale, the Japanese earthquake released approximately 1200+ times more energy.

Haiti did not have to deal with a significant tsunami and had rioters in the streets immediately after the quake was finished.

Japan was hit by a major tsunami and we still have yet to see any rioting, looting or civil disobedience from their population.

15 months after their earthquake, Haitians are still sitting with their hands out waiting for the rest of the world to bail them out. They complain we don't do enough for them. Their rubble is still not cleared, a good majority of the victims are still living in tents and they have no plan to rebuild their country.

Less than 15 days after the Japanese earthquake, recovery efforts are still underway but the citizens are already starting to clear the rubble. Japanese have not specifically asked for help, but are gracious the rest of the world is providing it. But even so, their disaster relief teams are working alongside the rest of the world's instead of sitting on the sidelines waiting for someone else to do it for them. They are already starting to dig themselves out and will probably start to rebuild as soon as the debris are removed. Their citizens haven't looted, rioted or sat around waiting for the rest of the world to provide everything for them.

I just found the situation curious. Japan was hit by a much larger devastation less than a week ago and yet they already appear to be ahead of the Haitians...

Just some thoughts I had. No specific point to make, just the ramblings of someone who watched both incidents with a close eye.

I am at the moment, watching and waiting to see what happens next.

I applaud the Japanese and their ability to move forward. I pray that god helps the ones he can and the ones that are missing- are found to help their loved ones.

Looting usually takes place once the guard is down. It also tends to happen when supplies run low and or are no longer given out. Although there has been none of the main stuff that we look for, keep an eye on the lines for gas, water and the videos of supermarkets that are bare.

I heartily disagree with this. Looting usually takes place as soon as the "diverse peoples" think they can do it without getting shot.

Man, if I was queen of the world (or just president of the US), I could fix all this up.

                              1) Welfare would be temporary. One year and that's it. No exceptions.
                              2) Mandatory drug testing, before, during and after receiving welfare funds. You get money as long as you're clean. And if you're found to be on drugs with 24 months of termination of welfare benefits, mandatory repayment of all monies received.
                              3) If you can not identify the father of your child, no welfare benefits to unwed mothers. It's time "the brothers" started paying for the babies they're creating.
                              4) During your one year on welfare, voting privileges are suspended. Voting rights will be restored when you're no longer on the dole.

It's *insane* to give voting rights to people on the public dole. They're going to vote us all bankrupt. Like Margaret Thatcher said, "The problem with socialism is that eventually, you run out of other people's money."
