Found yall through google doin research on long term food storage. been hooked ever since!

Funny, my first post on this site told of exactly that, 'telling how I came to be here', and followed with greeting to the transplanted writers.

But that post got censored down to only my greeting, then was completely deleted without me using one word that could be considered offensive. Never got an explanation from Grand.

Onenite- I have posted numerous times in various places on the forums here that we were not going to allow people to bring their "baggage" from other forums over here and provide a venue to female dog about another forum here.

Your "censored" as you call it, post brought up baggage that your brought from another forum. That is why it was originally edited and then later I believe I deleted the whole post. It didn't serve any purpose other than make a snipe at another forum.

The same cry baby, "gibme! gibme gibme!" socialist entitlement attitude that killed the fiction section on that site you mentioned ALMOST KILLED IT HERE ALSO.

I was stupid to assume that people might have LEARNED SOMETHING from the actions another forum was forced to take because of their entitlement mentality and that we could avoid it here. Yet that wasn't the case-

I never deleted your post. If I edited it, I would have put the reason on the bottom as to why. So in case you missed it before the post got deleted by someone else, this is what I probably would have said:

We don't discuss other forum's business here, especially if someone wants to come in and start bashing a particular forum up front.

If so, the post gets edited at the very least or deleted. I seem to recall your post, but can't be certain, but I do remember leaving the "hello" portion.

So here is your explanation from me. As to why the whole thing got deleted, best ask the Mod that deleted it...

Pretty sure it was me that deleted his entire thread. All it consisted of was some female dogg'ing about another forum because they got rid of their fiction section with the veiled "hello" front.

Much like all the spammers who have posted one or two posts of non consequence and then started plugging their johnny come lately businesses, poorly done books or blogs, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the real intentions behind some folks.

2 posts in 5 months (1 female dogg'ing about another forum) with him only joining AFTER we made the fiction section viewable only to registered members...... The writing is on the wall and Helen Keller wouldn't miss it...

Doesn't matter who deleted his post or who edited it, the buck stops with me here. I do not appreciate the attitude towards a Moderator (Grand) that edited your post. A responsible ADULT would ask "why did my post have to be edited?" Not act like a flipping baby because it was edited.

Their is always internet Law 8.....

Searched survival and prepareness long term food storage.. poof up pops this forum, I am not usually a forum visitor, just a few that were helpful in certain situations.
I read a couple of posts, searched a few, especially this dude named MATT, he pretty well sold me with his "SERIOUS LEVITY" I felt this would be a great place to share and get informed.
Both seem to have happened and I am darned glad I found this place!

I have to say "I HATE UNNECCESSARY CONFLICT" I don't understand why peeps need to have scraps with admins from the keyboard.

In the immortal words of that truly Great (almost choked on that one) Man/Orator Rodney King...."Can't we all just get along?" Fact is; Admins set the rules and it's there marble circle - Play by the house rules or sackem' up and find another smooth patch in the dirt and draw your own circle.

And now for making fun of a public figure posthumously I beg, in another well publicized mantra; "dooonn't taaazzze meeee bro"

The "Sandman" that went away today was the first problem we have had in a long long time.

When someone acts like an arse to several well known and well respected people on the forum- Staff and non Staff- it's clear they have gotten a little too big for their britches.

I realize many are of the "can't we all just get along" attitude, I get that. However if you had a dog that bite several people and bit the hand that fed it, would you not put it down? Guess what, someone's got to be the proverbial "bad guy" and put the rabid dog done before he hurts others. It's not my favorite part of the job. And don't kid yourself, all of the staff kinda keeps mental track of troublemakers. More than a few chances are given this type to straighten up. No one gets banned here quickly, but when it happens, that's it. No second chances, no "time out" bans, etc. When they use up the slack, the chain gets pulled. Honestly, I live my live this way both with personal relationships and business relationships. You get the benefit of the doubt and a chance to do the right thing, but when your done, your ....... done. Part of that is to give people plenty of chances, part of it is so I can have a clear conscience that I did all I could before it went terrordome. :)

I had started searching for ideas about how to store food long term and found this forum. After reading many others and watching different youtube's, this without a doubt was the best. I like the no BS or frills advice that's offered here and the base of knowledge is impressive. Thanks

Thanks. We have a good crowd here. Ocassionally we get some idjit that makes some "drama" just like everywhere does, but they don't last long :) The staff works hard and all of you do your part so it works out well.

I followed a link in Lowdown3's signature line from another board I was involved in years ago and sometimes check now and again.

Like Daelith said this place is a lot more my speed. Much more grounded in reality than fantasy zombie invasions. I think the thread about the age ranges here points to the reason.

Funny I started to say that I liked that not everyone here was screaming about the zombie apocalypse. I like watching Walking Dead and I'm currently reading World War. I'm more realistic than the fiction I like read in books and watch in movies though.
