was talking with the old man about how the bp oil spill has anything to do with the gulf stream. he is a big wig at exxon as well as a pilot. we also live near the texas gulf coast. i say this because he looks and considers weather often. he says that the vast majority of the oil from the spill was never cleaned up. bp used the same microb that was used in the valdez spill in alaska. he says not only is this stuff toxic but it does not consume the oil. it does something to effect the surface tension and it sinks. he says that the oil is not on the top or bottom of the water but in the middle. the reason this is bad is because the sunshines through the water to the oil in the middle of the water and heats up the water. (this is why some people and companies have black tile in swimming pools) because the water heats up(remember even one degree is tremdous) this messes with the gulf stream etc etc... i know this aint scientific or anything but it makes a little sense to me
