It appears the precious metals REVERSE-DEAD CAT BOUNCE is here,,,,finally,,, for as long as it lasts.
Mostly it tells me how much less value my US$ has.
Patiently waiting for the massive jumps in pricing to start showing up again.

Hadn't checked it in a long while. Got a new computer and was putting in links to places I used to stop by.

      Apmex as of 9/21/25
The PM "pushers" who told us in the 1990's that "gold will be $5,000 by 1999" were off by a few decades, but it's getting closer.
Definitely would not be buying right now.

How about the steadily screaming up gold and silver prices?
My wallet feels the shrinking buying power of my US dollars.

If it keeps up, I think $4k soon and maybe $5k by the end of the year.
But I am truly not an expert.
What are the rest of us thinking about the future.

Don't feel bad, I was going to buy a couple at the drop at the beginning of Sep but missed it.
Oh well, I just like to dabble in AU and AG.

earlier this month i was in middle ga at a coin shop hoping to find some eagle (or similar ) culls
none available... dealer offered me eagles at 46... silver was about 43... nope... too much premium...
and the total price was just such a jolt..
looking back. i shoulda spent all i had.
going to a local coin club in a few days..
usually someone brings some 1 ounce coins. and some junk.
it's such a shock. one dime being over $3.40

i suspect allyou guys know about coinflation...
just in case someone hasn't found it.

Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"

Boris- "Is it my fault you're poor?"

I'm just treading water waiting on the $5000 gold and $140 Silver. Feels like it's coming faster than I expected but so is everything else in the country.
Trick to gold and silver is patience, patience, patience.
Just like guns, gold and silver is for buying, not selling.

BTW, gripe time: I'm so tired of the stupid phrase.." Well, you can't eat gold and silver",,,,WELL DUH! You can't eat gun, bullets or spare tires either but smart person has them.

Was just thinking, figure we'll see a reverse dead cat bounce.
Gold and silver will drop before it continues to rise again.

Had just pulled up Apmex, gold up another $150. or so in the last couple days.

I told my wife how I briefly considered buying a 10 ounce bar some years back utilizing some inheritance money. Told her it was around $1850. an ounce and I was trying to wait till it got to where we could have got it for $1800. oz. out the door. It briefly touched that and I thought "no it will go lower." Could have made quite a few bucks on it now- and definitely would have sold it.
                      Coulda/shoulda/woulda

Well, PMs are finally catching up with inflation. Wonder if we will see that vaulted $5K an ounce gold or if it will drop back heavily. Lot of folks bought in early 2010s at high prices and it took them till recently to actually break even.

I don't know squat but I am very longterm.
You spoke above of a 10 troy oz bar.
My posture is majority in Kruggerands and Second choice is American Eagles but all 1/10 ounce coins.
The normal deal is if you have 9 of 1/10th oz coins most dealers will trade even for a 1oz coin.
That shows the 1/10 coins cost per oz is a little more than an 1oz price per oz.
Reason behind using them is 10 of them weigh as much as an ounce so it's no more carry around weight but more easy divisable.
                        BUT
IF you have to use them for something, it's easier to trade with . You can trade a 1/10th to get you thru a barracade and be better off than costing you an ounce to get thru the barracade.
That example is from when I had to buy my way out of sud amerika. (one of them countries down there anyway).
But I had to use the full 1 ouncers to the cuban fishermen who took me back to the states.
Like in the depression, a loaf of fresh baked bread would cost you a nickel but if all you had was a $5 bill it would cost you $5 because nobody could or would make change.

Thinking of a 10 oz bar, I don't think I'd like to be shaving a bit ot the 10oz bar to try and buy something.
Remembr now and bad times, Gold is your savings and silver is your buying money (silver or .22LR).

Back in the 70's when we could buy gas with an even or odd number license plate on even or odd days of the month.
I could eaiily find a station that would quietly fill my tank up for one siver dollar any day of the week.

BTW, I'm looking forward to $5k per oz and then over $10k per oz. but you have to be patient.
OH, have you noticed last couple of evenings it;s creeping back up oct 23rd was 4350 something and then down to below 3900 and now nov 10, 4142

suggestion.... visit your local coin club.
many have "auctions" during the meeting..
                          individuals sell stuff

the following has some lists of clubs in various areas.

the club near me is not listed!!

                          suits me.

that means that when i can scrape up some extra $$
there will be less competitors for certain items. .

several members openly advertise that they are buyers..
yep. they get some screaming buys. i don't know what they offer but expect they are buying at a little higher % than the pawn shops and "we buy gold" shops

then they bring their wares to the club.

where frequently purchases can be made at levels well below the prices posted on the internet by apmex/sdbullion/etc...
