    hmm. silver is high..
the old story of buy low and sell high comes to mind...
    so

it seems some of the silver owners on here may want to sell their silver (or gold!)
if you are the type that sells their commodities when the price is high
    whatcha got? and how much?

oops...i haven't asked permission. Boss? is it ok for someone to put their precious metals up for sale on this forum?

the ebay suggestion was strong.. i didn't know those details.
the premium on coins so high now....
i'm looking for rounds... 1 oz round item that look like sovereign coins but aren't...
you get more oz per dollar with rounds. but
you don't get the visual recognition that amer. silver eagles or canadian maples would have.

also. i'm hearing warnings about false - imitation coins...
i've seen a machine by Sigma. sells for 950 or so. that can verify validity of a gold or silver coin.

            Gold is under $2,000. again.

Bought a little bit in March to help bring down the balance on a certain bank's account, but hated paying $1900+ for it. But I'm guessing it will be a long time before we see less than $1500. an ounce again. Metals seemed to have passed their "salad days."

              Wise comment Lowdown.

Must be Sunday, which is lately the only day many of us are able to take the time to catch up.

World seems to be moving faster and faster.

                  8/10/23

                  Gold $1938.
                  Silver $23.02

Given that even the gubmint is admitting inflation is high and is likely near 8-10% conservatively, how has your precious metals held up to "inflation?"

in $$ value has gone down!!
a few months back. at local coin club the following occurred..

an austrailian 1 oz gold coin sold for 1920... which was openin
g bid... no one else bid. gold was about 2,000 spot.

this month gold was 1930's and opening bid for 1 oz was 2000. another 1 oz gold coin also sold for 2010 or close.

1/4 ounce gold coins sold for about 520.
                    1/10 ounce gold for 220

reference silver... ASE pretty and shiny went for 28 -29 ASE "dirty" went for 27.
silver rounds and foreign silver 25 to 26..
                    spot silver was about 23.20

spot is down from 4 months ago. coin prices reflected the drop in spot..

one guy was commenting that during the last 4 months he had bought austrian silver for 28 from internet dealer
" "" buffalo rounds from coin show for 26.

silver ASE at 28 are much more desirable and recognizable than austrian.

                    so, here's the question...
is this a temporary regrouping and time to buy?

or are folks running out of money as they lose jobs and other cost of goods goes up, so less demand for coins and some folks even liquidating coins to pay bills?
                    i sure don't know.
the most recent rumor that got my attention was that many governments are buying gold in preparation of the new digital currency
and that if there is a "reset" that these same governments may declare their holdings are valued at a much higher price.. for example just stating that gold value is $5000 per ounce, therefore their holdings show that their economy/money/debt to asset ratio's are fine.

markets always been a blind man stab in the dark for me. Not a genius at it.
BUT for AU, buy 10th's till you have many more than you think you'll need, then buy full ounces, skip the 1/2 and 1/4 oz's
AG is AG but keep a good supply of junk of pre64 us coins. Common man will gravitate to trusting those before the rest.

good luck to all of us. I don't know squat but I think we're gonna need it.

OH when they called in the gold and all GOOD citizens/sheep turned theirs in, most of the folks I knew in my little country farm town turned in a token amount and then in the 40's crossed the northern border and got cashy money.

Have we "made" anything with PM's over the years...yup, but that is not why we stack. We stack as we know it will be a hedge....can it be manipulated, sure, but with with Countries now stacking I think its a good practice. Will I ever sell...I don't have an answer as if it gets to lets say $300/oz for Ag, then what does the economy look like? I am sitting on mine for now...

lets see if i can wake up this old topic
today silver 23.75 it has climbed some this week
                          gold 1935

                          sd bullion quotes
silver ase 28.64 (if you buy a bunch at one time!)
silver canadian maples 28.04 if you buy 500.. and !!! 27.04 for one
comment... i don't understand this discrepancy...but if you've got spare cash. ordering from the 27.04 column may get you a "deal!!"
gold eagles 2056. (if you buy 10)

a pretend story at local coin shop in the far west u.s.a .
they were very busy. customers that looked like bank tellers to grizzly adams to music teachers who talked with high voices.
this story was when silver was at about 23.20
shop had eagles posted at 29.50 and his buy back price at 24.70
for 500 he was quoting 14,450.

a second shop in florida by phone advised he had no eagles nor rounds. a lady had come in saturday and bought him out of every round and eagle that he had. i asked how many ? which was a little too nosey and he politely changed the subject. i asked how much when you buy that many and he politely changed the subject.

an associate was trying to put together a "group buy" sounded like a good idea to me. but if he got a commitment from someone on the number of coins, he couldn't get commitments on how much they were willing to pay.

btw, i have not known what BU means in real life. besides being brilliant and uncirculated... i've boiled that down to fresh from the mint still in a tube. any comments are welcomed.
