  • gold pricing.

i'm sitting at the computer watching silver pricing... i was trying to buy a few silver eagles from a friend.
we were hagging over the price. arguing pennies and dimes over the phone.
meanwhile. the gold price sticker is right next to the silver sticker.
it started at 1840. and started climbing it was at 1845 when we hung up... i was amazed at how high that increased in such a short time.
i kept watching it after we hung up.
gold is 1850 as i type this.. having risen 10.00 in just a few minutes. wow..

SILVER is more active and in flux than gold.
I watch silver but not overly.
I watch gold when it makes jumps of $60 to $80 but other than that, I don't overdo it.
When AU jumps, I start paying attention.
    I remember 1999

PS I do more junk silver than others because that's the first thing the normies will gravitate toward.

      ref: silver
on march 11 i'd been saving and ready to buy a few coins. i'd called sd bullion that friday. 23.37 if i bought a lot. i wrote a new dealer an email.. actually a salesperson for miles? (i forgot the underlying company name) i was hoping to save a few pennies helping me to buy a few extra coins.
supposedly they had good prices. silver was at 20.50 i was hoping for a small premium. maybe 2-3$ i asked for price of coin and what is procedure?
no response. suited me, we've been busy.
then yesterday. they called. i had sent email to a facebook email they seldom use.

yes they can get the coins for a great price, the lady says. only a $4.00 premium. silver was 23.97. so total 27.97
$4.60 more per coin in 19 days. and as i type this on march 31... spot is 24.26...
i goofed by not paying the 23.37 being a skinflint isn't always a good thing.

in normal times i think there should be a decline in prices right about "now."
however, this aint normal times, so who knows?

waiting for a decline has been a poor decision for me!

How about that gold pricing now?
I hear silver will be the first huge jump.
Both will be scary dollarwise by the end of summer as to USD goes in the toilet like the post WW1 germany did.
At least that's what some say.
Remember, I don/t know jack about any of this stuff, wish I did.

I have not looked at silver this morning but I am not sure this is the big jump for silver, in my gut I feel that it has the potential to hit a ceiling and then drop one more time...maybe around $19-$17....but after that, well I am optimistic it will bounce up big....as you know this is still being manipulated. The feds cannot have gold and silver spike up as that would show even the uninformed that the dollar is trash. Look at all the other countries buying up gold....

i have heard of a local coin club in a city in my area.
.. they help with local coin - shows. maybe they run it. ??
after most meetings, they have an auction allowing members to bring in their coins for sale.
                  --
rumor is that some items go for less than spot.. !
just an idea for those that are looking for a place that may provide some coins/rounds for a favorable price.

If I had a guess for the short term, you will see gold drop back under $2000. here soon as people calm down and go back to their normally televised show- aka the slow destruction of Amerika.

Now getting back to $1800. is going to take a lot longer.... and their are those that will say that won't ever happen again. Remember back in 09-11 you heard similar, then a little while later you had the "salad days" of PM's. I remember picking up single oz. bars with some great deals at Apmex in the $1150. range. This was long after gold crested well over $2K and the "experts" said it would "never go back down".

I usually check spot on Apmex then check out Apmex Ebay store. They can't charge a fee for paypal or CC on Ebay so the price seems a bit higher but realistically without the fee for CC it's less.

What do you recommend? I'm thinking silver coins or rounds. Prices on Apmex/Apmex Ebay aren't horrible.

Silver is at a high right now (not to say it won't go higher), so shop around for the best "over spot" price....If they are selling on eBay, then eBay takes about 13% of the price + shipping. For an eBay seller to stay competitive, I would think they would have to offer less over spot as they will lose about 13% to eBay. Also, you can negotiate price with seller even if they do not have an auction going. Just reach out to the seller thru the eBay site and ask if they will take $xx per coin. If they will, they can then change their listing for you to buy.

Silver jumps around a lot, so i keep watching the commodities market for a decent drop.
