I plan to hide it in a location near one of the rivers I will have to cross along with some paddles I found while Kayaking. I actually live at home but plan to go retrieve a friend of mine who is at college. I have positioned several caches on the route that she takes home in her car. She hates Highways and is a creature of habit. But there are three rivers to cross and the bridges may be down or blocked. So these are cheap ways to cross the rivers (I was pricing inflatable rafts but i would need three as my pack is at the limit I feel I could handle if I had to walk with a nice safety margin.). I coated mine with water proofing/stain and then the 2 cans of Rubber in a can I got for free. I plan to hide it in a cache location I know it will be safe. I am going to try it sometime this spring until then it will sit in my grandmother 2nd garage which was my grandfathers work shop before he passed. It was a fun project and only took about two hours (spread out over three days) and the store cut it for me. It also cost less then 20 bucks to make so making three won't break even my tight budget. Do you guys think it is worth it to build 2 more to cache.

    Want some advice?

Don't store it in a garage. Store it outdoors to see how well it will stand up to the elements.
Experience is a cruel teacher, gives the exam first and then the lesson.

I tried it the other day while it was nice. If floats for at least 20 minutes with me and my pack in it. I did manage to pick up another can of Rubber for two dollars in the bargain bin in a local store that is going out of business.
