    Interesting. Longer shelf life than gas eh? I didn't know that.

    I wish it wasn't more expensive than gasoline. Also would be noisier engine than gasoline if you needed stealth but more powerful for sure.

      For a BOV , I keep a 7.3 diesel Excursion and a Toyota Tacoma with a locking cap . Neither look out of place , unless you look inside , which is hard to do on both . If I had to BO , I would scout with the Toyota and wife would follow with Excursion . I can load the Excursion with too much stuff . I put air ride suspension on it , so even fully loaded ( tinted windows ) I air the rear up , it rides and looks normal , with the 7.3 you never even notice the 2-3k lbs loaded into it . Both run offroad tires , both are fully locked ( means 4 wheel drive , not the fake 4x4 stuff ) with a flip of a switch .

        Looks like most of you are done posting here if i read the posts right, but since i took the poll and choose other, i thought i'd explain. I have a Jeep xj and love it, easy to work on, goes anywhere, but that's it. My buddy and I are rebuilding His mid 1970's chevy 3/4 4x4 for me to use as a temporary BOV since he isn't planning to bug out. It has carb and no electronics on it at all. But once done with it and as budget allows we are making a BOV out of a Suburban. Plan to use at least a 3/4 ton with a 2000ish body and frame but replacing the motor with a 5.9 12v cummin's Diesel. Yes Diesel is higher than gas, but the potential for Bio Diesel after anything major should happen, the power it has and its non-electric nature has too many pluses for me not to go that way. 'Rufus' was my inspiration. :) plus i could pull my XJ with it pulling a trailer. :) Anyway its contagious working on a BOV!
