  • Another reason for a vehicle kit:

With the weather changing, just one more reason to have an emergency vehicle kit.

    Here's a selected quote:

She wasn't prepared for the winter conditions and did not have a heavy coat or blankets, Blair said.
But at least she had the brains about her to be able to melt the snow and to have some form of food. Not a lot, but she managed to survive. Just a small lesson and reminder to check your vehicle emergency kits and prepare for all conditions.
Experience is a cruel teacher, gives the exam first and then the lesson.

You cannot make people get ready.

My kids all carry vehicle kits year round. My wife refuses to keep even the most basic stuff with her. My son was stuck in a remote area of Oklahoma a couple of years back and had the stuff to pull his truck out with. He had pulleys, cables, jacks along with his winter gear and got himself out. GB

Components of my vehicle kit serve double duty as part of my GHB. Thanks for the original post, as it reminded me it's time to rehab/rotate my vehicle kit!

Good idea. Rotation of some gear is a must.
