no driver vehicles

this morning in big city tn, in a neighborhood of very old houses ,
i saw a white car with a crazy looking contraption on top of it go by.
i asked the owner if that was one of those cars that is taking pictures for google earth.
she asked for a description.
i did my best.
wtihout looking up or trying to see the car the house owner says.
"oh, that was just a waymo"
no driver in that car.
this area has narrow roads and lots of cars are parked on the streets.
but the waymo drove through without any difficulty that i could see.
