@monkeybird: couldn't your standard hose funnel work if the gascan nozzle is too short? :)

Also take a piece of garden hose slide it up high on the spout run some duct tape on it and make it as long as ya need it.

I went to rotate my stored gasoline last summer and discovered that the spout that comes with the new cans are too short to fit into the tank!! It requires an extension nozzle (sold separately). Had the SHTF happened before a rotated the supply, I'd have been out of luck!

You could always store your lamp oil in glass jars. I would assume some 1ltr. Whiskey bottles would do just fine.

I have been giving some serious thought for a while now on the subject of fuel storage. I'd like to get some of the metal "Jerry Cans" to keep for storage for my BOV.
I'm having trouble finding a supplier of these, so if anyone has some, please send along a link.

I'd like to get a few of them for gasoline, some for diesel, and some for kerosene.

I've also heard mention of some of them that are smaller ( about a gallon or two ), and would like to get some of these as well for storing parifin lamp oil. The original plastic bottles degrade over time, and can lead to a catastrophic failure, and loss of precious stored oil for emergency lighting.
