I had previously purchased this other book on "stand up" and was pretty impressed with the scope of the book. Greg Jackson has trained and coached the likes of George St. Pierre, Keith Jardine and others.
The book is almost 300 pages with excellent photos and descriptions. It starts off with an excellent discussion of nutrition and helpful info on losing weight.
Unlike most BJJ books on ground fighting, Jackson's book shows you submissions and strike opportunities for the ground. You'll find detailed instruction on most of the common ground submissions including arm bars, omoplatas, triangles, various chokes, heel hooks and leg locks, etc. in addition to covering sweeps and reversals from all the major positions.
At $35. it wasn't cheap, but it was worth it IMO. I bought it full price at Barnes and Noble, you'd probably find it cheaper on Amazon.
BTW, a beginner could pick up this book and get a lot out of it, as well as a seasoned grappler.
