  • Maintaining due dilligence

So last fall and over the holidays, I evidently enjoyed too much Christmas chocolates and misc. food.

Little things- too much creamer in the coffee, went back to peanut butter on the toast in the morning instead of buttery spray. And man those Aloe Vera drinks in the Mexican section of Walmart are darn good...

Got on the scale in late January and was 197. Hell to the no...... Time to get back to it more serious again.

Exercise wasn't the problem, was getting my fair share, still fighting regularly, all that.

I started to rationalize that I was getting stronger, you know the whole "muscle weighs more than fat" BS.

    Naaaahhhh.

Didn't go full Ethernopian (LOL) starvation diet, just cut the obvious ones.

185 this morning. This is the area I like to be in. 179-185 range

From previous cuts where I got to 171 I realized this is way too much- eats up too much muscle. I'm just too "big boned" ;) 177 and less I have pretty much no reserves and get shaky after a half day without anything. 180-185 gives me a little reserves and I can go the day without food and still be effective.

I think *for me* that 179-185 is the best range- I don't lose a lot of muscle here but can move a lot better and quicker (was catching some quicker 20 year olds last class) and I have a little left to lose for a time wherein I may have to be moving all day with no or little time to eat.

Due dilligence and checks and balances. I hadn't stepped on the scale in months when I stepped on it the end of January. I worked too hard to get here.

It is a heckuva lot easier now then it was starting at scratch (215'ish) 5 or more years ago.

If I may ask what "class"?

I recently (first of the year) made it a priority to get back down. I have been out of sorts for 15+/- years so I needed to lose 50-60lbs... I have lost 20lbs already... Mostly by diet changes. Now to keep progress going I am adding in fitness to the mix. But it has been a battle for me to stay the course (I love my southern food... all food really).

LOL, LD3...same happened to me. Got up to 212 and said the same thing. Exercise wasn't the problem as I'm still going 5 days a week, it was the pie hole. I cut out the empty calories. Started thinning out what went in and back down to 195. I have found 190-195 seems to be my sweet spot. I like 193 to give me that leeway.

                Raccoon....you got dinner.

I have found it is not only calories, but what kind of calories you partake. I have been really trying to stay away from carbs. Oh I still eat some, but have pushed way back on them. Haven't had pasta in several weeks and eat only about 2-4 pieces of bread a week. Hate it when there are chips in the house.... That has been hard for me as I love bread and pasta. I get some carbs with my Clif bar before workout, then a Clif builders bar for breakfast. My protein shake for lunch...scoop of Combat Powder, half banana, couple tablespoons of peanut butter, cup of Almond milk and ice, dinner maybe another shake or some eggs and an apple. Weekends I splurge a bit more, but still try to be reasonable. Diet is a real bear to try and find what works for you.

Oh, LD3....I'm not 7'-3" anymore as gravity has been working on me over the years ;)
and the fireballs now come out of my nose :p I've found that keeps the nose hair trimmed.

                    Awesome job!
"One cannot but ponder the question: what if the Arabs had been Christians? To me it seems certain that the fatalistic teachings of Mohammed and the utter degradation of women is the outstanding cause for the arrested development of the Arab. He is exactly what he was around the year 700, while we have kept on developing. Here, I think, is a text for some eloquent sermon on the virtues of Christianity." - General George S. Patton, diary, June 9, 1943.

Yes! Just keep working at it, no one is going to do it for you and their is no "freebees" when it comes to WORK like this. You have to want it bad enough yourself to put the work in yourself.

178.8 just now. Between broken toes and busted ribs, I can count on my hands how many times I've ran this year. Get a lot of cardio from the other work though. Biggest thing was dropping all the "nice" food.

Miss those good tasty Aloe Vera mexican drinks, but I don't miss the calories!!!
