  • well this sucks

After I destroyed my back .....I kinda stopped working out hard. Afraid to really. But its pestered me. I put weight on I worked hard to get off etc. Then I started going "wow...I don't recalll xyz being so hard ...heavy." LOL
So two weeks ago I started working back out again. By that I mean least three days a week. I'm not a desk jockey at work but I'm not nose to the stone.
Well I went back to run /jogging. That first day I was really ashamed at how far I back slid. Yesterday's run...I'm doing better...not so much aches...pains...just more of conditioning. Working on heart rates etc.
Mostly to stay cardio fit ...weight loss is also a goal...but it'll take longer.
But man those first few times...sucked....hopefully ...I stay motivated...I really wanna run a race in a few months....since that was what I was training for before my back explosion LOL.
Off to buy new shoes again LOL.

Just gradually work yourself back into things. You'll get back to where you were in time. No point in risking re-injury or adding new ones.

I hate missing training cause of injuries. Pace yourself, your a hard charging type, learn to slow down and not try to conquer Rome in one day.

Been fighting this sinutitus crap for a couple months now. The running has gone down to once or twice a week. The run goes fine, it's the after effects. Some days their is so much congestion, it's five minutes wharfing up crap after the run. The alternative? Still probably have the congestion and have my cardio in the toilet.

Yeah...I'm doing run five min...walk two kinda deal.try to keep the sessions to 35-45 minutes. Problem is I used the GPS last night..I run with the dog..wife and kid in tow. Dog likes to keep me at 4.5 MPH pace.....when I should be a 3.8-4 these few weeks LOL.

My sinus issue clears after some antis ....but pollen flared up the sniffles after last nights run.

Like others have said, take your time P.

The pollens/allergies are horrible this year. For those that don't know, Nasalcort has gone OTC. This can go a long way, with the addition of an oral antihistamine, to helping the allergies and sinus issues.

Well...I did a run with my younger skinnier brother. MPH was 4-4.5 per the GPS. Lil to fast. I could feel it. But could hold conversation at least.
Allergy was in full effect...mouth breathing ...which sucks...snot running down my race and chest lil tighter than normal. Bpm. Was 130 at the car...down to 72 after 5-10 min drive hone.BP was elevated about 5-10 points than normal. Oh well. LOL my resting has been 58-68 avg and my am BP is avy 120 ish. /75 some days lower.
Gonna rest today...run sat or hike instead. See how this pollen flare up gets me. I was finally getting used to normal breathing....LOL

I feel for ya. Was going to start working out today after 2 months off from the broken rib in my back. Bent over to tie my shoes and just about pissed my pants. Have been stretching every day but there isn't much I can do that won't jar it so I'm going to wait another week. Waiting is a bear!

Instead of laying in bed...snoozing I did a quick 20 min run to the river and back. Was down 3 lbs since last week...when I weighed yesterday.
Bpm is good. Two min after run I was down to 71. BP was 122/79..
Motivation is my big thing...I rode my stationary bike yesterday for 20 as well.
Still hdls ...but hopefully....ill be back on track soon.
