  • One of the Local Vo-Techs

Francis Tuttle VoTech now has accredited "prepper' classes advertised in developing a root cellar, long term food storage, food storage on a budget, gardening, long term water storage and bug out bags

Now having said this you will give up some permanent OPSEC by having a transcript, being with other unknowns, placing your vehicle at a certain place at a certain time etc. There is nothing illegal or wrong with what we do but just as you see weapons and ammo becoming scarce the next thing to follow will be an increase in theft of said items and gun range gurus, LEOs, survialist, preppers etc will all be the targets because they are KNOWN weapons holders. So taking these public classes gives up anonymity and puts you in a position where your are KNOWN for having things of use in bad situations.
Part 2 is they are on a transcript so if you have a program you are taking they will always show at job interviews etc. So maybe take them at a place where you are not achieving a degree or trade IMO will allow you to have a separate transcript that can be not shown to the non believers out there.

Weight the risks and decide for yourselves.

I think one of the big difference between FL and other hurricane hit states is that the gov does spend a considerable amount of time/effort/dollars into informing the public on how to be prepared for a storm. "Emergency Management" is offered at several local community colleges, and usually involves classes about procurement of services/paperwork/beaurocracy as well as immediate issues, like emergency shelter management. Red cross even offers courses in communications, and shelter management in addition to the normal battery of first aid business. Other way to look at it is that they are offering a demanded bit of services. Of course, the tinfoil hatter in me says they are just brainwashing the femacamp bootlickers into taking on their role as "Civilian administrative liason" early. That's ok, though, because my tinfoiled scalp ain't been nearly so tingly since I started keeping the ammuntion in a faraday cage...

We have classes being in the tornado alley round here too but my tinfoil aint near as tight. It would be if it wasnt layered in plastic sheeting leftover from the birdflu scare to help insulate it from the emp

I'm glad to see there's enough public interest to support a class. Sounds like what a good high school Home Economics course would have covered 75 years ago and still should today.

Thats something else! Prepping is becoming kinda normal again. Were lucky that around here it's just normal behavior to stock up..4 the hurricanes..Nobody looks twice at a cart of #100 rice and cases of cans.
Root cellars would be underwater though:mad:
