Thanks for the post Matt, looks like fun. So far I have been unable to connect with anything. I saw probably 200+ Elk yesterday morning but I just couldn't sneak close enough to tell if any where a "True Spike" bull, can't have any branches at all. Got within about 250 yards, but hunting on a rocky, sagebrush ridgeline, hard to fool that many eyes. I sat and watched another bunch of about 100, bedded down just over on the private land (how do they know???).
I've been using my GMHB and travelling cross country on wet slick rocks really brings some lessons home.
So it's been a great hunting season, but no fresh meat yet.
Survival question. What do I need most, right now?
