Elbow Strikes
Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. Elbow strikes are very effective. Some MMA circles dont even allow them to the head because of the damage they can cause. They are one of my favorite tools and are harder to defend against due to the proximity of the striker. It allows for alot of power by using the core.
I totally disagree with the head butt comment on that site because there is always recipocal damage to both parties unless you just catch them on the bridge of their nose but in most cases hard to hard meet as the bodies shift. Its a calculated risk thats not worth it on most cases because there is usaully something else that can be done.Knowledge is Power, Practiced Knowledge is Strength, Tested Knowledge is Confidence

Elbows have been my best friends in close quarters before. You can toss them from any angle and they stil remain effective. And you don't have to **** them back for power like a super punch.
And you get to save your knuckles and prevent a wrist injury.You know what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like this?

Funny this was posted. I was teaching my 9 year old daughter yesterday how to throw elbows from the bottom while in the mount. She understood exactly why it was a good idea to know how to use them. Needless to say, I agree with the tutorial. I also agre with the comments on head butts. Last resort of you're unable to use your limbs. You can also use your shoulders.אני אעמוד עם ישו וישראל

In a real fight dont forget all the "illegal" blows like when being mounted elbow to the top of the head and if possible pull the head down and strike where spinal cord meeets the skull. Instead of pushing off on the face and snapping the elbow into the face try and push the chin up and strike the throat.
When in the sprawl strike the vertebrae

I never teach my kids "the rules of fighting". In my opinion, if it's down to hand to hand, there are no rules. I want my children to know how to survive. She started point sparring at about 5 yrs old. Those days are long gone. They're all taught real world scenarios now.
