Opsec (operational security) and tactics can rapidly become the most important aspect of group survival (my paramount interest) as opposed to individual or single core family survival.
Considerations of Opsec include:
-Early warning (dogs, sensors, observation posts, recon patrols, road/trail watching)
-Perimeter security guarding against surprise of the entire group (redundant actions)
-Escape routes in case an enemy assault of overwhelming proportions occurs (rear guard actions, smoke screen, booby traps, etc)
-Rehearsal of security drills (leap frog retrograde, incursion alert, formation of holding and counterattack elements, group movement practice through any trenches and fortifications so that every member has it imprinted in his head, establishment of near and far rally points,
-Camouflage so that trails and installations are not obvious to aerial surveillance
-Smokescreen preparations and drills
-Demolitions if an insurgency war is raging
-Defense and counter attack tactics (also part of tactics, overlap)
-Radio security if appropriate (communications codes)
-Anti-infiltration sweeps
-Night trip wires for flares
- Nightly password and answer
-Cell phone security
- Deception activities
Considerations of tactics include:
-Formations for movement, crossing danger areas, recon patrols, ambushes raids
-Immediate action drills (counter raid, counter ambush, meeting engagement, hasty attack, hasty ambush)
-Defensive tactics and counter attack tactics
-Bunkers, trenches, barbed wire and Tunnels
-Minefields ( command detonated and directional) and detecting mines with probes, use of grappling hooks
-Deception- False camps
-Trip wires, booby traps and illumination
-Employment of LMGs, light mortars and RPGs
- Use of grenades
-Focused firing
-Flank envelopment
-Withdrawal tactics (leap frog, rear guard)
-Special Tactics (defined in case of war)
-Delaying actions and rear guard
-Leap Frog Withdrawal
-Ghillie Capes and installation camouflage
-Identification of track trap areas and key terrain
-Combat Multipliers
The above are introductory remarks. Discussion is welcome.
