Did Workout 2 week 1 couch to 5 k, legs still a teensy bit sore from the other day, but I feel good overall!
chest felt sore from pushups last nite, I'll take that as a good sign.

My brother and sister in law both do inline skating and kayak for exercise. They are both over 60 and in great shape. Nothing for them to do a eight or ten mile skate each night to just keep in shape. On weekends they will do some twenty or mile stakes. Other weekends they will do a ocean kayak to use other muscle groups.

Yes, you need to keep moving. I use to work construction and that kept me in shape. Not so much now that I retired. I would say get in the habit of staying in shape.

Busy busy day yesterday involving a lot of physical exercise, so I missed doing pushups. Woke up with a tight back and a sore bicep, but hey, Pushups don't need those, right? :)
I did Week 2 Day 3 of 100 pushup challenge this morning (12 hours after my usual time), Maxed out at 15 (the minimum) but I wasn't as desperate as I have been.
I also think that my fitness regimen has been helping me out in the shooting department. I did a moderate amount of shooting yesterday (I was actually head range officer so I was more making sure people weren't acting like idiots than anything else) and discovered how much work it is to dump a 30 round magazine into a target accurately. It's tiresome!
            Need more PT!
Good for you, good for me!

something you might want to look into is adding core exercises to your routine and changing up the push ups you do, wide hand, close hand, and incline. another thing is changing the way you run, instead of just running for distance and time doing sprints during parts of your run will help your cardio. you've got to becareful of doing the same routine repeatedly because your body will get used to it and you won't gain much.

Testing Day for the 100 Pushup challenge!
Managed to crank out 23, which keeps me in the middle column. I'm not disappointed though.
I am disappointed that I missed day 3 of the Couch to 5 k.
                Need to run!

Did Week 3 Day 1 of the 100 pushup challenge!
                  Phew!
Didn't get this far the last time I tried this.
I quit before I even took the test. You know, "life got in the way" or some other lame excuse.
Tonight I maxed out at 18! one more than the min.
This isn't getting any easier for me folks!
                  I am loving it though!
and still saying no to the HONEYBUN!

                    Couch to 5k Week 2 Day 1.
5 minute warm up run, then alternated 90 seconds run, 2 minutes walk for 20 (24 in my case) minutes.
Did good, had to leave to pick up urchin #2 right after finishing, so I am late posting 'the score' as it were.
Starting to notice my lungs are expanding like they did when I was a running fool. Also noticing I am recovering a whole lot quicker too.
                    Time to drink some water!
                    No honeybuns for this jerk!

Day 2 Week 3 of 100 pushup challenge.
Maxed out at 19 (the minimum), and felt like my butt got kicked. I'm shaking right now, and sweating.
                        PHEW!
                        Sets were:
                        14
                        19
                        14
                        14
                        Max out (min 19)
                        No HONEYBUNS either!
I did have some nutella though, that's ok, right?

Thanks for the encouragement Matt and ellittle.
                              I'm glad to have it!
Today was pushup day, did Day 3 week 3 (Column 2) and had a good workout.
I had a longer break between my 4th set and my "maxout" set due to a work issue, so I got a 5 minute rest instead of a 2 minute rest.
As a consequence, I made sure I did more than the minimum amount!
                              :D
                              here's the result:
                              15
                              21
                              16
                              16
                              Max(min 21): 24
                              Progress!
No honeybuns tonite although they do look good. I had to tap a peanut butter and nutella "lollipop" and a can of tuna to tame the snack monster tonite, but so far, so good!
2 hrs, 50 mins left on this shift and then it's home to my wife!

                                Ok,
                                So I'm hurtin' tonite...
Week 4 Day 1 of 100 pushup challenge.
                                Here's the workout week:
The Hundred Pushups Training Program is a six week training program designed to improve strength and physical fitness.

                                I am in column 2.
Notice the number at the top of the column?
A lil' over a week ago I did as many pushups as I could, and could only get 23. When I started this I was really weak, I could only barely do 11.
after two weeks, I could do 23.
Tonite, on the first day of the 'workout week' I maxed out at the minimum, 25.
                                Progress is coming.
Just so that I don't seem like a total sissy remember this, I did
                                18 pushups rested a minute.
                                22 pushups rested a minute.
                                16 pushups, rested a minute.
                                16 pushups, rested 5 minutes.
                                Then did 25 pushups.
                                10 days ago I could do 23.
Tonite, I did 72 pushups with some rest, and then 25.
I'm not a strong guy up top, never have been. For me, tonite, I feel like I have accomplished something.
I also clearly see I'm not there yet.
I still have so far to go.
Now, though, I feel like I can get there!
