one thing to try that may help. Hold the "saw blade" solid and pull the mag bar back to you to strike sparks. this lets you be solid( not smacking your hand into your fire bundle etc) and it helps aim the sparks into where your needing them.

there was a video on the net about the cheap Chinese knock offs not being worth crap, I bought one at harbor freight to check it out and they were right, you need a belt grinder of chain saw to get the shavings off and then it doesnt light worth a crap. if you get a mag stick I think the Doan brand is the best. thats what the US military uses

huh, 2 things
that was from harbor frieght and where do you get one thats not chinese? all I can find is them, even "coleman" is chinese now
