Okay, I bit the bullet today and signed up at a local gym. It's not that I don't like to exercise, it's just that I can't usually bring myself to do it. This is more like commitment. i.e. it's costing me money. Keeping in mind that I am a SERIOUS couch potato, this should be interesting. (Said like the guy who found himself in a locked room with a grizzly.) I plan to take it slow, with a LOT of aerobic stuff to start. The plan is to get into shape WITHOUT having the coronary in the process. I know I'm in the worst physical condition of my life, and have to change that.
Of particular interest, I chose the month-by-month plan, rather than the yearly one. The month-by-month will cost me about three dollars extra per month over the yearly one, but I'm pretty sure we don't have a year before it falls apart. That's the other reason to do what I should have done last year.... It's like Lowdown says, if you can't run 100 yards without stopping for air, you might be in trouble. I'm not sure I could run 10 yards right now.
