  • Funny Looks hehe

I get some funny looks when I work out . Sometimes when I head to the gym I go in dressed from work , so I am wearing combat boots , cargo pants , polo shirt and a jacket or a vest sometimes . I figure if I am going to work out , it should be in what I am going to be wearing on a day to day basis . I spend all day/night in my boots , so working the treadmill/elliptical are nothing . I also like to know that my clothes dont bunch up and will stretch or move allowing me freedom of movement at weird angles .
Once I get my endurance and strength up , I plan on doing with a pack on lol . I know it will be a source of amusement for others , but when I am walking by them with my pack and gear , knowing Im gtg and they will be vulture meat , then I will be laughing . hehe ..

I work out at our gym at work with the pack/boots on but it is a hunting pack and I just tell the very few inquries it is gearing up for an elk hunt. Most around here just assume it's for a hunt as so many around here do the same thing.
I would be very careful in a public gym and would refrain.

Agreed. Keep OPSEC in mind while doing this. I will usually don my hunting (tactical) gear and hit the local state park trails. My plans this spring/summer are to go out in all sorts of weather. I would hate to figure out the hard way that my boots are no longer waterproof!

One of the nice things about having a treadmill at home is you can run on it in full bug out gear if you want..Its an eye opener and I can assure you that once you do it, you will be looking to make that bug out bag lighter :) I still use it with no shoes however.. will have to try it with my boots once to see what its like.

i have a private gym at my disposal. i would go in around this time (5-6am) and put on my line 2. I would then run with it ( no rifle or side arm just support). Having 20_+lbs of nylon and mags jiggle and bounch around on your chest/belly takes getting used to.

Your also putting extra stress on your body.
best thing is to go at it with out gear till your g2g.

What I have been doing now is , loading my Camelback HAWG with heavy items and riding my MTN bike hehe , no one looks twice . I am thinking of the ankle weights and maybe some wrist weights to keep the stares also .

Don't forget to balance ~50lbs on your head!

Mike, I'm suprised that your gym allows you to do that. The gym I go to has rules and your workout attire would definitley be in violation! LOL
