  • Your rucksack...

Your rucksack called me, said it was lonely and asked that you get it out of the closet and take it for a walk.

Was sick of sitting around feeling sick the other day and decided to get out there. Did 3.1 miles in just under 42 minutes with a 37 lb. ruck in 36 degrees. Not bad for an old guy.

Damn near got hit by a speeding car coming over a blind hill but hey that just adds to the fun right!
Boris- "He's famous, has picture on three dollar bill!"

Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"

Boris- "Is it my fault you're poor?"

Did something like this in November in TN...except pack was lighter, about 15 pounds, and did close to six miles in the woods, over streams and up and down hills. Not bad for a really old guy.....had done a shorter hike (tree miles round trip) but steeper terrain the day before.

Thanks for the reminder. Time to open the bag, throw-out expired stuff, take-out unnecessary stuff, and take it for a walk.

Been walking more and more. Still working out some, but need to pick up that a bit more. Still consider myself in better shape then most of those 10-20 years younger. Did a patrolling class a few months back. Hot and buggy...still was there taking point and blazing the trail thru thick brush. Now, I will never be point, or should never be point because I am the med guy in my tribe but I need to show the younger ones I can still hang with them....

People it is past time to get into shape. If nothing else get out and put some miles on your shoes/boots....
