Right now my goal is 25 pullups with dropping from the bar. I have a real love/hate relationship with pullups. They are an awesome upper body workout but they school me every time. I cranked out 15 reps earlier this week. Getting closer!

I was never the skinny kid. Shoot..my nickname was "fatboy" up until I was 13..lol. But, I did chores and worked around the house since I was old enough to carry the 'tool'. So I mostly looked chunky, which helped the weight gain and helped me look like some muscle under that fat lol.
I am recovering (I hope) from a back injury in 09. A couple months ago I weighed (got to where I didn't want to even know) and I was at the heaviest I have ever been at 245#...I had one of those "oh crap" moments and later that day decided to do something about it.
Cardio, cardio, and more cardio. I am somewhat limited in excercise but I can walk and jog for short periods. Weight training is verry light, I do only a fraction of what I could. Treadmill, eliptical is my base and I have some delusions of getting to bring in my BOB to use with that...I dunno maybe it'll be a plus.
I am concentrating on endurance over bulking up. At one time in my life I was in construction and lifted with a professional 5X a week and I am not interested in doing that again.
Last Friday I had lost 15# so I'm at 230# and with the summer coming up..and those summer chores I hope to increase this. My goal is 210, I feel the best at that weight and don't honestly know it I could go lower anyway.A desire changes nothing, a decision changes some thing's, but determination changes everything.

Should have mentioned diet.
Simple things right now.
Think of what I'm putting on my plate, like smaller portions.
Eating slower-you find that your are full and stop eating opposed to eating fast and a lot more.
Less trips through the buffet-what's on my plate, eat slower knowing I am full.
Eating supper earlier 5-6pm so calories are being worked off.
No snacking after 8:30pm
Lot's more water, even if I'm not thirsty.A desire changes nothing, a decision changes some thing's, but determination changes everything.

My work out is 2 miles evry other day trying to be less than 15 mins, run the poles alot for speed buildup. and play kanect all the time. Even just the basic games will realy give you a work out, and besides it's something that my other half will do, so we can spend that time together. She will not run with me so this is the next best thing. As far as the other work out, I blacksmith so that works my upper body along with moving various pieces of metal arong at heavey weights. Also I garden, and digging a hole in the ground around here in this caliechy soil, well, thats a real work out all by it's self. not much of a program, but it's all physical and keeps me around the 175-190 average, winter is when I realy put on some extra. But for my hieght of 6'1" I dont think it's all that bad.

i do or try to do 80 pushups and 100 sit ups in 2 sets every morning and when i can 25 burpees. it usually kicks my tails though. my wife and i have also been trying to do more things around the house the "old" way when possible to work muscles rather than vehicles. not much but it works for me.

Down to 225# I am not dropping the weight as fast as I thought I would but that's ok. I have kept on track with my exercise(even adding to is some) but my diet is ......mediocre.....meaning, I have one I just break the "rules" from time to time :(
In the gym I added my BOB when I am on the treadmill. Because of recent back issues I started out at only 10# and was able to do this for the first two weeks with no real problems. Monday(14) starting the third week I am at ~15#. Initially I started at 30 min's, 3.8 speed which would put me going about 1.5 miles. I will increase this next week.A desire changes nothing, a decision changes some thing's, but determination changes everything.

Great job guys.
I gotta tell you, I did a class recently wherein we always do a big workout as part of the class. This similar workout 2 years ago and 60 lbs. heavier about killed me! I wouldn't say it was a "breeze" at 173 but it was a helluva lot easier! You will see the benefits of your work, trust me on that. I can do things now that I would have 'thought' I could have easily done at 230 but couldn't really do.www.homesteadingandsurvival.com
