Looks an awful lot like the back to basics mill. Is it the same just relabeled?

Looks exactly like it. Just compared the pics. Could be relabeled I suppose. So is it a waste of money?

Did you watch the PAWS video comparing grain mills? One was a corona style and the other was a back to basics. I have a corona style and it DOES NOT make bread flour, it's very coarse comparable to the fineness of grits or cornmeal. The back to basics mill looked like it produced bread flour in the video. I've been thinking of selling my corona and getting the back to basics mill.

If that mill is a clone of the back to basics I'd just get the back to basics mill. They're everywhere so parts should be easier to get. Price is comparable I think.

The Back to Basics is a decent mill IMO. We still have one or two around here somewhere methinks. It was my first mill so I am kinda impartial to it though.

the cornoa style will make "whole grain" four. LOL
              not pastry flour .
the BB will do bread flour if you thinking nice fluffy wonder bread style white bread.
The both serve their purpose. I would rather grind corn in the corona vs the BB as the BB heats up way to fast doing corn. I think i mentioned that in the movies in your talking about.

Found the vid on these 2 mills, thanks!! The Corona mill has jumped in price, at least on ebay -$36 for an antique one Cast iron (cast iron is not my first choice). The newer ones were in the $50 range starting out.

I guess the question is will the Corona mill make flour for say corn bread?

OK, what mill do I need to buy so I only need one mill? Glad I saw this, wife and I were on our way to COSTCO this weekend... Supposedly they have a few mills for sale there...

Good point about the corn. We don't store corn so hadn't thought much about grinding any.

My corona definitely does not make what I'd call flour of any kind. I've cranked it down to the point it would barely turn and ran it thru several times but it still just makes a fine meal comparable to corn meal. Mine must be one of the lowest of the low quality chinese made mills. It would be OK for whole wheat bread but I'd like a way to make finer flour for things like pasta, dumplings, pizza dough, pastries, cookies, and OMG donuts!!!

We use an electric mill for that now but it's not EMP PrOOF :) I think I'll get a back to basics for finer flour and keep the corona for rougher grinds as you suggest. The corona would also be good for rough grinds for livestock foods.

if you have to chose. drop the flow for the BB. or a better one like the country living one etc.

the corona will make flour to make a heavy whole wheat loaf. This will be a thick, heavy bread. Better imho for meals than fluffy white style bread. Not so good for PB and J LOL.

the BB will do both. But heats up when trying to grind larger/harder grains ( beans, rice, coffee beans, corn whole, corn kernels) The Corona mills them down, to a suitable "meal" that can be re milled in the BB if need be.

There is a movie also in that series that should show how both ground up those grains....iirc.
