I really like the new improvements as well. Excellent review. Do you know if it will be available on the civilian market? Im needing to add some new cammo to my stocks (lost more weight) need to replace soon.

There is some already on Ebay but its not cheap from what I've seen.

The local cmd,s are up in arms about this change they don't want it. What is with all the Velcro, it makes a ton of noise and I never had a problem undoing the buttons and it makes no noise. I wore the uniform till 1996. If I had this crap in RVN I would be dead on LRRP or ambush missions. Only my opine.

I flew F Co, 51 Inf and velcro wouldn't have cut it.

Velcro makes you high speed duh.
Think about it.
Pvt.Smith needs to deploy a 3/8s oz pinch of cope ..it would take him roughly 2.1 seconds to deploy said pinch if buttons were on his shoulder pocket. Under duress it was shown in testing pinch deployment times would range from 2.5-3.8 seconds...longer times noted in colder climates or wet test. With Velcro it was shown during testing that pvt.Smith could deploy said 3/8oz pinch of cope in or under 2 seconds and under duress still maintained sub 2.2 second times.
These rigorous test standards clearly show how superior Velcro is to buttons.

That is why its tier1....

Velcro is cheap and fast to sew... Buttons are slower to sew., come loose, fall off. I think it is simply an economics choice, and that risk is no longer a high INDIVIDUAL concern... Expendable assets, so to speak.
