Id say basics should be the same. Least for me.
Extras would be some cash... good multitool ...area street maps....
Id be bugging out from that kinda of AO ASAP.
Basically something to take in the car for the rare instances we know we are going through a larger city. Was thinking a tan pack but that seemed to stand out too much- the Molle attachments really is "loud" IMO.
I've went with a black "Swiss gear" commercial backpack. It looks like something a tech nerd would carry, actually found it in the computer section of the store, LOL.
For when I am traveling out of town by car, I just got a Vanquest Skitch-15 messenger bag in black, er tactical black---lol, pretty low pro and can adjust sizes. I also have my TT MOP in coyote in the car. By plane will be my regular luggage with a TT ROP (coyote) empty in my carry-on luggage and my Skitch-15 as well. Items pretty much the same as Protus said, but pick set , and multitool would be nice to add in. I also have my Kel-Tec Sub 2K on longer car trips where I cannot take a MBR. The Sub 2K is hampered in 9mm and takes Glock Mags like my CCW. Keeps me from having to carry two different types of ammo.
Protecting the sheep from the wolves that want them, their family, their money and full control of our Country!
Guns and gear are cool, but bandages stop the bleeding!
ATTENTION: No trees or animals were harmed in any way in the sending of this message, but a large number of electrons were really ticked off!
Add those small booze bottles and cigarettes for barter / bribery... For the little favors.
Pepper spray and/or tazer if in a non-CC city. Good for a non-lethal get away even in a CC city...
Poncho or small silnylon tarp for shelter & rain protection
As Protus mentioned, detailed map and multitool. Knowing the BAD areas of the city would be a must. You could be bugging OUT into a worse area... Just a few blocks could make a big difference... Info like this could be picked up from locals, and booze/cigs could be a good thank you...
Lock picks are good, but if harassed by cops and searched, could get you arrested for burglary tools... A secret pocket sewn in the backpack would be ideal.
Just kidding I couldnt help it.. Seriously though Cash, a good street level local map with bad areas outlined and definitely a way to defend yourself.. Using LA as a example there are areas through the city that are relatively safe when compared to others. Pick the wrong 4 block area and you run into hell. You end up here!!!!
I don't think id try to barter with these characters
