Vapur water bottle

For years, I have been using the Platypus brand flexible water bottles in half liter and full liter sizes. They work well, and I have been pleased with them.

The other day, shopping in the Jax REI store, I ran across a new bottle by Vapur. Triple layer construction, freezable, can roll it up when empty, has a clip for hanging from your belt, and a snap cap to drink from. $7.95 for the .7 liter size. Looks like a step up from the Platypus brand.

I have used the Vapur brand for about 4 years now and all three sizes going strong with no failures yet. Like all plastic water carriers clean them regularly and they will last years. I had a camelback I left a bit of water in the bladder for a month or so (forgot about it) went to fill it for a trip and was greeted by a foul mess. had to toss it. A set of brushes and some denture cleaner capsules of choice a quick scrub and your done.

Jacksonville has an REI now?

I didn't realize their was that big of a market in Jax for granola?

Lots of bikes and kayaks at Town Center ( the JAX yuppie magnet)... They even have an Apple store...20 minutes from Shooters.. Regards, Templar

Lowdown , it's not a 'real' REI, in that it is about a quarter the size of the big one in Atlanta. I find it is easy to order online, and have the product shipped to the store. No shipping charges, and if I don't like it, I just don't take delivery.
Picked up a nice REI sleeping pad the other day, that is just perfect. Light years ahead of anything by Thermarest.
