  • sleeping bag

    I'm helping a relative sell a house...
    the house is empty...
    no beds. no furniture..
    --
as I left this week I grabbed a sleeping bag... in a hurry as I was running late for a couple of night stay.
got the one that was all wrapped up in a black bag, strapped down all tight.
    --
so, I'm wasted after cleaning/repairing all day and head for the empty bedroom and my sleeping bag.
I thought it was a 29.99 walmart special. either sleep on top of it or pull the zipper down the side and use it as a blanket.
    --
in the dark, I undid the straps.
got the sleeping bag out of the sack.
found a zipper. zipped it down... bag fell apart it seemed.
then found another zipper, then another.---
finally just went to sleep with a pile of stuff over me.
    =
I would have been in good shape if it had been -xx c as this was a super duper ecw or something similar.
yep, it worked in 55 degree f.
    --
but the plain ole wally world special would have worked just as good. and been a whole lot easier to use
hmm.. I wonder if anyone has ever said something like "learn your gear and practice with it" get familiar with your gear! etc..

Sounds like you grabbed your military sleep system.

When ya put them all together they are very warm but for the house you could have just used the patrol bag. ;)

You need to unroll and fluff the bags out every so often if you can't store them loose. I use net laundry bags as much as space permits. Aren't those GI sets cool?

a buddy of mine at the shows had some that were in pretty darn good shape. So i figured hey at the price he wanted $75 I would look through the batch and see what I can see. I found two in near perfect condition with NEW bivy bags. I couldnt resist! My wifes first response was.. MORE sleeping bags!! however when I explained how hard it is to find them in near new condition at $75 Even my wife got excited about that find.. LOL

          75 sounds great!
and I sure do need to keep up with what's what!
          yep, they are cool!
and I'm trying to think where I could appropriately leave it hanging. thanks...
