  • First Spear plate carrier

Just for Templar and various gear hors de vours out there ;)

So I tried on a First Spear plate carrier. OMG it's COMFORTABLE and bad arse. No tag on it at the shop I tried it on at. Looking it up, I think it's called an "Amphibian"

Gal did some "research"- I'm thinking this is no $100. plate carrier, but if it's $250. I may bite the bullet, Christmas and all, and DAMN it's comfortable!

    $419. OUCH!!! That's NOT comfortable.

Coolness factor? Yes. Wallet casualty factor? Definitely.

On the plus side, looked extremely well put together.

Anyone with a new one or very nice used one that wants to trade for prep gear, towards NV, etc. I'm interested.

Tell me where I can find it cheaper, the hebrew in me just won't let it happen...

which one...their site shows a few. 400+ ones or the "first on" which is a low pro for 99$
    this the brand
Tactical Nylon Gear and Load Carriage Vests for military and law enforcement professionals.

lots of grammer issues,,like youd see on a made in china site..but see their outta MO.

the acc or first on peaked my interest for my ""needs" thats for sure.
Hey Petunia...you dropped your man pad!

Look at the banshee plate carrier. I have found it comfortable. I've only worn it for about a three hour stretch though doing work around the house. Haven't worn it running a class though. Waiting for it to get colder here and I can work the yard with it on under a jacket. :))

I think plate carriers are like shoes in that you really need to try them on to see how it fits. Torsos are different widths and lengths and all carriers adjust differently. I was lucky as I ordered the banshee online, to get the best price, but only after doing a look of research. I looked at utubes and read reviews where people would give their sizes that matched mine to see how they liked it.

Guns and gear are cool, but bandages stop the bleeding!

Well considering it was some bogus "tactical superstore" place and usually you just go to places like that to see things in person and then find them online cheaper, I had to assume the "superstore" was overpriced -as they are with most everything else- and I could probably find it cheaper online.

Boris- "He's famous, has picture on three dollar bill!"

Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"

ID:	107863Is it the "Tubes" and 24/7 molly attachment one? Ray has one and I absolutely love it. Wore it with DKX plates...WOW!!!! is all I can say. I was going to get in on the deal with the First Spear Reps at the shop but when Mike and Ray gave me sticker shock with the pricing (Dealer Pricing at that) I kinda backed out. Waaayyy out of my budget.

My current setup like Patriotsheepdog is a Banshee carrier With ceramic /Ar500 steel/and soon to be AR500 soft armor plates. I also have Blueforce gears Molly minus carrier with new in box status on it still. Will give report on it soon.
The thing Im going for is weight and mobility... Nutinfancy has got me thinking on these lines with his youtube videos.
As far as First Spear goes... Ray has worn it to a couple of 3 day classes and never complained a bit said he "forgot he had it on" and was more comfortable then the Eagle chest rigs we used in past years when going prone. Wish I had the money for one but I need to place the money towards food preps.
                      HTH
                      Robert

Will try to get some pictures and post when I remember how

As with many things in life armor comes with trade offs. Yes theDKX plates are light BUT and this is a huge but. That weight reduction comes at what I feel is a huge cost. That being they do NOT stop M855 or "green tip" 5.56 rounds. As this is the most prolific AR round out there I don't see this as a viable option. There is currently no compressed polyelthene plate that I am aware of that will stop green tip. Some things you just can't cheat buy level 3 ceramic, alumina or BO or go super heavy and buy steel. If no one used m855 I'd run PE plates myself but they do. So I don't
