    I realize that this may put you on the radar of the gubmint, however if you create a business (S-Corp, LLC or whatever, consult a lawyer on how best to hide your identity) you can get some great deals. Group purchases would especially benefit from this. Right now there is an auction for 560 Ammo cans and the starting bid is cheap. See here:



    Now I realize not everyone needs 560 ammo and it would cost some extra money for the shipping (3000 lbs) but I am sure that what you don't need could be sold on ebay to make it worthwhile or turn it into a side business.

    In the old days their was local DRMO auctions and you could actually see and touch the stuff ahead of time and the "paddle" bidding was cool.

    We got 7 PALLETS of books one time for $20. 10 rolls of steel wire that is used for reinforcing in concrete for $50. (it was $70. a roll back then) and numerous similar deals.

    Once gubliquidation got into it, it made the whole process a nightmare. It USED to be easy.....
