  • Cold weather clothing

I spend a lot of time outside due to my line of work . A lot of it is nasty weather , when its cold I use a layer system and it works . I have some flannel lined khakis from Bass Pro and they work , but Im wondering if anyone knows of any other places to look for some heaver weight clothes . I have some gear from Duluth also hehe . But I need a little more flexibility , I feel a lot like the kid in A Christmas Carol , where he can hardly walk sometimes lol .

I bit the bullet and spent the money on Smartwool long underwear this year and am very pleased. The keep me warm, don't itch & don't smell funky like synthetic do. I find that I wear a lot of Columbia brand sportswear.
Survival question. What do I need most, right now?

Thought duluth had them special cuts in the pants? I wear a vest instead of a coat alot for the ability to move. Besides that it makes me look cool like "Burt" LOL

I'm a big fan of wool. Filson merino wool is very nice. Pricey, but you get what you pay for. And if it's cold I'm almost always wearing a pair of bibs to keep the wind out. Non-insulated or insulated depending on how bad it is outside.

I am partial to Omni Wool socks that I found at Sams. $15 for 3 pair, merino wool, really good fit. I wear them in the summer when I am wearing my work boots, I made the mistake of wearing some cotton socks and my feet got so sweaty that I ended up with blisters on my heels. I usually put on a pair even when I am loafing around the house because they are so comfortable.
