    Walking Stick/Hiking Staff
A good walking staff is hard to beat. They can be handcrafted pieces of artwork or just a stick found in the tree line while out and about. The length must fit, the staff strong enough for weight support and the handle is probably the most important for comfort.
I'd like to see any that you all use

I use TWO lightweight Black Diamond hiking poles. I think that lightweight (yet strong) is important so you are not working the stick, and I think two is ideal... I can't count how many times my poles have saved my ankles on these half-buried, rock-strewn, root-encrusted trails in the Blue Ridge Mountains, especially in fall when it is all covered in leaves...
It really is amazing how they do indeed HELP YOU in so many ways...

The one on the left was given to me by my mom. She has had it for a while. It has been on many of trips with me.

The middle one is my "car camping" fire poker/ walking stick. And it will beat you.

The one on the right is my snake stick. I have penned down one with it before. I bet I could play hockey with it.

I had a few extra wooden closet polls of different lengths that I have converted to walking sticks.
They are light weight and sturdy, I wrapped some 550 cord around them for a good grip and they are multi purpose now.
          1. walking stick.
          2. whacking stick. (pun intended) Self defense with a long stick is a useful tool.
          3. fishing poll.
          4. 2 long ones together make a good base for a litter.

and anything else you can imagine.
