  • Hot weather boots??

Well it's a typical Pacific Northwest Spring, cold and then 80 degrees the next day. My last pair of warm weather boots have bit the dust. And that brand doesn't make that style anymore.

I usually wear Vasque or Merrell for mid weight hikers. I'm looking for something I can wear a wigwam wool sock and get some ventilation also.
Looking for something for fairly rough cross country travel.
so what brand & style have you had good luck with.
    Thanks.
Survival question. What do I need most, right now?

The only thing I plan on replacing my Vasque Breeze Gore Tex models with when they finally bite the dust (going on 4 years old now with close to every day wear in Germany)...

Is another pair of Vasque Breeze.
Experience is a cruel teacher, gives the exam first and then the lesson.

try the merrel moabs....they dont do well when its super wet( unless you have the goretex ones) but the standard moab breaths really well.its what i wear down here at work and to hike in ( i wear wool socks as well.)
Hey Petunia...you dropped your man pad!

I have lived and hunted in Arizona for over 30 years. We have some of the most obnoxious terrain that you'll ever traverse. I am not a fan of the mid-weight hikers because they do not hold up well to the rocks and most have "environmentally friendly" soles as opposed to an aggressive lug sole. I am a fan of the latter because I like to know when I step on a rock (wet or dry) that my footing won't slip. I have been wearing Cabela's 9" Outfitter for 5 years now and they have been holding really well. They pretty much handle any kind of weather from the summer heat in the desert to sub zero temps during elk season up on the Mogollon Rim.
"One cannot but ponder the question: what if the Arabs had been Christians? To me it seems certain that the fatalistic teachings of Mohammed and the utter degradation of women is the outstanding cause for the arrested development of the Arab. He is exactly what he was around the year 700, while we have kept on developing. Here, I think, is a text for some eloquent sermon on the virtues of Christianity." - General George S. Patton, diary, June 9, 1943.
