I have always wanted one of these lightweight cooksets. My backpacking buddys have the backpacking kettle and another one has a cookset similar to this. It works great and you dont even know its in your pack because of the size and weight.
Made by Katadyn, if it has anything to do with them and possibly water, I am on it.
Specs:
4.9x 6.2 inches
0.9 Liter heat exchange
ml and oz measuring marks in the cup
Rubber handles for moving while hot
Best part its 9.7 ozs.
Perfect for BOB or for car bag.
I tried it out this past weekend and I was impressed. Not only can it cook, but it can hold a can of fuel inside and silverware..etc.
I boiled 0.6 liters for 2 cups of morning coffee. Seems like the aluminum rim on the bottom kept the smoot off of it and acted as a heat shield. This was on a grill grade about 12 inches above hot coals. It took about 8-9 mins for the water to become hot enough to make coffee. If I was using it on my backpacking MSR Whisperlite stove, it may have boiled faster.
It has the nice plastic type of material on the handles so you dont burn those grabbers. I also kinda dig the neon green color of them
I like how it has a pouring spout on it. That is a good feature. It is very easy to operate and use. You would have to be a total idiot to not learn how to use this correctly.
You can boil in the bottom and eat your chow in the top. Cool concept.
Overall, this is a great little cookset and I recommend for backpacking or if you are running from liberal zombies.
Once I get on a good backpacking trip, I will throw something up with it cooking on my MSR.
