So I've been tinkering with my tracker, the black coating on the blade is a good / bad thing. Good because it protects , bad because it creates unwanted friction. Also the blade almost has two different hollow grinds which makes it a beast to sharpen. So after a couple of hours I've come up with this( http://www.flickr.com/photos/6946970...03244028)first I bead blasted the edge to remove the coating, but left it on the upper section to protect the main body. Then we put pretty close to a flat grind on the 1/2 inch cutting section. It gives me an easier edge to sharpen, and seem to cut so much smoother, plus it in no way compromises the strength of blade. What do you think?
