  • French army canteen

    has anybody had any experience with French army aluminum canteens. just bought 5 of them off amazon for 7.00 each

    Being french I would imagine they can't hold their water when scared and will quit when they are needed.

      I think they have never been used and only dropped once, just like there rifles

        LOL, never used them bud, dont even remeber the French having metal ones when we trained together, seems like theirs were plastic too.

          My grandfather had something similar he brought home after ww2. i found it hiding in the the garage in the 80's and it had (scales?) i don't know what to call it but it had white stuff all over the can inside and out. granted that was over 30 years later. one big advantage i see is being able to boil water in the canteen just not sure what you would do with the plastic lib while on the fire.
