Thanks for the review Protus! It steered me away from it and instead I got some of the INSULATED nalgene bottles to test out... Hopefully these keep cool the contents longer and avoid the SWEAT on the bottles...

i used a neopreme coolie for mine, it works, but i hate how heavy the dang thing is. It looks cool, and all, but i may just leave it in the truck as a spare means of cooking/drinking.

I bought a couple of them and think they are great for a specific purpose. You can boil water, cook in them, and they will not break. I think in a survival situation, where you have limited gear it's a great item. For a day hike in warm, use something else. I did not buy mine of sale and paid over $20 for them. At $10 a pop, I would have bought a dozen. I still use a Camelback, a military canteen with a metal cup holder, and insulated plastic bottles, etc. but the guyot SS is really nice. Just another addition to the family.

I am looking at a coleman 16oz model for $5. I've never owned one. Can you actually boil water in these with damaging them? It seems there are about 100 different ones out there. i want lightweight that can be used to boil with. PP I read what yo posted but I wanna know that it has actually been done with no issues. I dont ever see fire marks on anyones bottle
