  • Sponge Camo

I was reading a tutorial last week on a camoing technique called "sponge camo" using the right colors and technique someone can basically pull off an analog verison of MARPAT, here are a couple of AK mags I did this week laying on a genuine USMC Marpat shirt:

I've invited the author of the original tutorial to our forum and asked him to either post it or give me permission to repost it here. I've started this thread here in the gear forum because while his tutorial is weapon focused its about cammoing something more than its about a firearms. This technique could be used on well, anything. Car, truck, XBOX, Hi point carbine, whatever.

Looks nice! I'm guessing you masked some parts while you sprayed others? Apparently, all the cool kids in Afghanistan are using netting (my brother said that's how they did they're new 300 win mags at least). Maybe I can do my 2nd AK in camo...

As I would imagine you are using a sponge, what kinds of paint are you using? Standard Krylon spray camo?
