We purchased some Safety Reflective LED Lights at the dollar store recently. They have a battery block which is easily removed with a tug. It keeps the battery fresh until ready for use. It comes with a clip that easily attaches to a backpack, belt loop or anything else in similarity. It has several different modes of flashes or just in the on position. It's not a very tough unit however for a buck whatya expect.
Some of the uses I can think of for it are marking the children in a camping enviroment, marking a downed deer after dark for recovery, marking myself as I come out of the woods in a public hunting area (had a bad experience once with some "hunters") and uses for emergencies when I need to be seen or found while hiking or marking myself when I'm jogging near traffic.
I know it's cheap gear but it does fill a need. I will be placing one in each of our packs.
