  • Anyone storing ammo in mylars w/o2's?

Heard ammo can last a long long time, If it's away from mositure. Just curious if anyone is doing this. I store mine in a big lockable steel box, with a mositure absorbers. Most all my 45's came packed in plasic bags, not to worried about them, just my shotguns shells and loose rounds. You pay alot of money to build up, your stockpile. Just don't want any to fail, when I need them. FYI, I get alot of my ammo from these guys. Price is good, and have some info, if certain rounds are hard to get. VIA ammo shortage. Seems they are back on track now. http://georgia-arms.com/

No, ammo box is fine for my lifetime, and the lifetime of my child... More work & supplies than any benefit will gain

I have USGI .308 ball ammo from the 1960's that are still in great shape and go boom every time...

As stated the ammo cans are perfect. I keep some 40-50s 30-06 that still work just fine. I'm about out though.
I have some shotgun shells in the old food saver bags that are still sealed although the bags are deteriorating rapidly that I didnt store in cans for a long time from the early 90s that are still good too. I now have them stored in cans.

I use surplus ammo cans, figure if it's good enough for the army it's good enough for me. ;)

i have put some in mylar when i had spare o2's and left over bag peices. This is ammo i keep in a ruck or in my truck.

sides that ive shot ammo as old as 1938.....surplus form overseas ........with no issue at all. Ammo can or dry box should be more than enough.

Being very, very ignorant of guns and ammo, I put mine in paint cans I purchased from Lowes. Seems to work. Should I get something different? If so, where do I get it?

MB, your paint cans will work fine. If you'd like to try surplus ammo cans you can find them at gunshows, flea markets, yard sales and army surplus stores.
