Sorry for the late reply. I could not find a name or model number on the jacket when I got home from the hospital. I’ll send a pic asap.

If rugged isn't key( aka fighting ).
Marmot precept outter size bigger...with a down/dry down puff jacket.
    But that's because I don't like heavy.
Either way. I always used a goretex style outer parka ,liner combo when in canukistan.

So many brands out there that make good stuff these days.
    marmot,mountain hardware columbia etc etc

Several years ago, I drove to NH to visit family. While there we went to the LL Bean store in Maine. Cool place. Our family member said that if we found something we liked, hold-off, there were several Bean outlet stores where we could save money. I found the heavy jacket that I wanted for $60, $250 at the main store. If outdoors, 20 degrees or more and active, you will unzip it some. It is waterproof and has a hood for rain. It has held up well.

Maybe a Columbia soft shell jacket, although I'm intrigued by the Kistler Aerogel.

It's wet and cold out, yet you have to be outside, possibly living outside for a while.

What are you packing for a jacket? What would be your ideal jacket? Not going to say "unlimited budget" cause that's always BS when people say that... But say you appreciate good gear and want to stay warm and dry. What jacket would you consider?
Working...
