long time ago i read. tried it out etc. for turkey hunting(since they have wicked eye sight) to wear different camo patterns on your pants than your torso. it actually worked pretty decent. thing woodland pants with a multicam top.ot multicam pants and a yote colored top(think poly pro color).

        good vids as always!!!

          • In all seriousness though you are completely correct about going with what you have. Sure that 1980's woodland isn't the new gucciflauge or Multicam but camo is more about how you employ it and not as much about having the newest greatest pattern. Guys who grew up hunting know this and as your videos clearly shows. Distance, shadow, movement and the use of natural materials are all more important than the pattern of the camo. Me personally I'm a MARPAT kinda guy. The woodland variant works very well in my opinion because it employs enough dark color to blend in well with the green, dark, shadowy environment I am often in. People who don't spend tons of time in the outdoors or who don't bother to seriously look when they are there don't realize that areas like where hawk shoots these videos are FULL of shadows. The transition from sunny area to shadows cause recognition problems for the mind and just as pattern is used to fool the eye light or the absence of it plays tricks on the minds ability to identify shapes. I think another major issue people have been led to believe because of some testing techniques is that you can stand in front of vegetation and disappear. Even with the best pattern in a given area this is questionable. However, move back even 1 foot into the vegetation and sit still MAGIC!! I know at the last camp out you guys set up lanes and had people walk them looking for "bad guys" or things out of place. That and these videos are EXACTLY what people need to learn about camo and how to learn it. Great video hawk....

I have such a hard time getting people to understand this. SO many people just don't/cant get that.

                • I posted this in another thread but wanted to share:

Granted this might not be the heavy duty BDU's that we are used to but I like the fact that they are out there doing something.
