I went back through this and noticed that you don't include a change of clothing. I'm wondering what if something happened to what you are wearing when TSHTF? Also, it looks like you're carrying about 80 pounds worth there. Can you carry that for very long? Middle of summer? Middle of winter? Anyway, the clothing jumped out at me because I just took a short overnight trip, and noticed that a change of clothing took up most of the backpack, with long underwear, etc. Also, I notice you're only carrying MRE entree's. Are you carrying heating pouches also? I didn't look closely enough, I guess.

Me or Isreal? I'm guessing Isreal because of the MREs entree's which i was out of at the time and was using heater meals and canned items. Just in case, this is what I do with the stuff i posted. I would like better equip but money and the fact I know this stuff inside out even in the dark when i'm tired is a plus.Originally posted by Bearman202 View PostI went back through this and noticed that you don't include a change of clothing. I have listed in the BOB "Extra boots wrapped in plastic trash bag Extra set of camo clothing and work gloves in zip lock". The clothes fit in the back pouch of that large framed army ruck and the boots go on the bottom. I generally wear the same stuff I would wear then anyway and I also keep a change of work type clothes in the pickup to include weather type gear like cold stuff and gortex and even extra boots.
My bag is heavy but I humped "my house on my back" for a long time in the green machine. I'm getting older and it's getting harder. There may come a day when I cant but I aint there yet.
The summer, I would try and move in low light or dark just like the desert or I wouldnt make it far, nor would anyone else in 100+. I usually only carry an extra T and socks.
The winter, well if it was like the blizzards of the last 2yrs, nothing moved or it died! I do still run even in the winter some, man I hate cold lung:(
When I hunt with the GMHB I have a extra one of them old NBC bag that I put my coveralls and extra layers in and attach it to the outside of the pack. I have attached pictures. I hate walking with all that stuff, looking like the kid from christmas story, it takes soooo much more energy and time.
Anyway if that was for me here it is and if it aint sorry for the ramble but i'm bored and stuck at home LOLKnowledge is Power, Practiced Knowledge is Strength, Tested Knowledge is Confidence

Man I totally agree with North GA. I go backpacking the Cohutta and last year I actually took my BOB with me, loaded down with 58lbs and lets just say I have noodle knees that night at camp. I now go 35lbs or less anywhere I go....thanks to my hammock and lighter gear....But the hills of N.GA are one of my BOL's so it would be necessary to keep on training.Originally posted by jloneill17 View PostI am guessing if you live in the desert it is pretty flat? I work out, play soccer, but I don't think I could hump your ruck, with the vest, and the belt. not to mention the garand. that thing weighs a ton. I live in north GA about 30 mins north of Atlanta. though here where I live it's not mountainous, it is the foothills of the appalachians, so very hilly, alot of rivers and streams to cross. Another 30 minute drive up the road from me and you would be in the mountians. most of your stuff in your pack, i have also. very good pack, i just couldn't hump that stuff in north GA. i'd pass out. i work only 3 miles from home. i do have a get home bag in the trunk of my car. but I also have 2 BOB's at home. one for me, and one for the wife. her's is lighter of course, but it does help to have an extra person help carrying some of the load. thanks for the post and the pics. You know what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like this?

The holster is an unknown brand I have had for over 20 yrs. It is fraying and I am trying to get it replaced with the blackhawk rig that has 2 drop down attachments so it doesn't "walk" around my leg when I move. The pouch drop down rig is actually a flashbang rig I use for magazines from Blackhawk.Originally posted by Bull View PostWhat brand drop down holster is that?Knowledge is Power, Practiced Knowledge is Strength, Tested Knowledge is Confidence

That varies from city to city and state to stateOriginally posted by jeffwheel View PostSorry for the off-topic:
In USA, if you walk on the street and you carry a knife (for example a folding knife) in your pocket or in your bag, could it be taken by LEO "to ensure citizen safety"?
