Harbour Freight Framing Nailer

Need to build some shelves for the basement and was thinking about one of these nailing guns. Has anybody had any experience with them? The one I'm looking at is a 28 degree nailer. I know that HF usually sells Chinese junk, but hoping this item might be an exception. Thanks for any thoughts you might have.

Never bought a nailer from them. Their stuff is ok but defintely not for heavy or continued use like say if it is your profession. They will warrenty their stuff and do a replacement if it doesn't work.

A nail gun is easier, and like Matt said it would hold up under light use imo (for the home owner).

Have considered coarse threaded screws? They would make it a lot easier to modify or even take down at a later time.

I got one last year as a gift. Not construction grade but, i've built two sheds, a chicken coop, framed a bedroom and closet; without really any issues.....surprisingly.

If your short on cash they'll do the trick but don't expect them to last a lifetime.

We've worked through a couple of them, they aren't bad, but don't expect them to last forever.

I have one of their brad nailers and a stapler. I don't make a living with them so they are fine for what I do. Every time you load it with nails, disconnect the air hose and put a few drops of air tool oil directly into the air intake. Makes them last a lot longer.

Thanks, everybody, for the input. I bought one of the HF nailers. It's shoots clipped and full headed nails at 3 different angles. I had some 28 degree nails stored up that I got somewhere. I drown the nailer in oil, and don't let it get low on nails, and so far it has worked fine. The more I use it, the better I like it! I may go around the shop and gather up all my hammers and throw them away! LOL I'm too old, and have too many aches and pains, to swing a framing hammer very long!
