Need to build some shelves for the basement and was thinking about one of these nailing guns. Has anybody had any experience with them? The one I'm looking at is a 28 degree nailer. I know that HF usually sells Chinese junk, but hoping this item might be an exception. Thanks for any thoughts you might have.

I got one last year as a gift. Not construction grade but, i've built two sheds, a chicken coop, framed a bedroom and closet; without really any issues.....surprisingly.
If your short on cash they'll do the trick but don't expect them to last a lifetime.

We've worked through a couple of them, they aren't bad, but don't expect them to last forever.Boris- "He's famous, has picture on three dollar bill!"
Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"
Boris- "Is it my fault you're poor?"

I have one of their brad nailers and a stapler. I don't make a living with them so they are fine for what I do. Every time you load it with nails, disconnect the air hose and put a few drops of air tool oil directly into the air intake. Makes them last a lot longer.

Thanks, everybody, for the input. I bought one of the HF nailers. It's shoots clipped and full headed nails at 3 different angles. I had some 28 degree nails stored up that I got somewhere. I drown the nailer in oil, and don't let it get low on nails, and so far it has worked fine. The more I use it, the better I like it! I may go around the shop and gather up all my hammers and throw them away! LOL I'm too old, and have too many aches and pains, to swing a framing hammer very long!Last edited by slingshot; 01-20-2011, 08:34 PM.
