  • Missing my daily forum interaction

I've been incredibly busy this past few weeks that I've been missing the forum. I can usually find a moment or so to quickly read the new posts, but not to interact.

My 86 year old mother has fallen again and has a hairline fracture in her back in addition to the hip she broke last spring. She has finally accepted the reality that she can no longer live alone. She will be moving in with me before Christmas.

In the meantime, I'm having to do some re-modeling to my Florida home. It has a space designed by the original builder as a place for the men in the family to put all their hunting and fishing stuff and has a full bath! Thank goodness. So she'll have a small bedrooom, a small sitting room, her own bath, and a small back porch. I'm fencing in a small section of my already fenced yard for her 2 Chihuahuas. Standard size poodles and Chihuahuas don't mix. Particularly her chihuahuas!

I'm still in the process of packing my home in Alabama. I do have an offer on it and will find out the details today. Regardless, the packing must still be done.

I, along with my Sister, are in the process of finding a new home for my mother's stuff! She has begged to keep her victorian living room suite and her 187 dolls! I can't say no, she is 86 after all. My son will be buying her home, so it seems like a three way move.

I'm already exhausted, so if my posts are few and far between, you'll know why. I do miss the interaction and encouragement all you forum members give me. Hopefully, all will be normal by the first of the year!

monkeybird I hope everything turns out OK...
I too have been offering my elderly mother to move in with me and the mrs, alas we live in TX and she has spent her entire life in my homestate (which I deny being from when asked, LOL). That and 5 of the 8 kids still live in that state, 2 have passed away, and I am the black sheep of the family and moved out of that gun-hating democrat state.

      :)

On the pluse side, you will be getting some more good home cooking. :)
