Meetup group For Folks in Central FL.

Hey guys!
In the interest of PRACTICE MAKING PERFECT, a good friend of mine has started up a meetup group for central Floridians interested in Bushcraft. It's been a while since I've adequately shaken down my skills on the trail, so I'm glad he made the group. The jerk also made me an "Event Organizer" :) so here's what I plan on doing for my part:

My schedule is a little different than most, I work nights, and have friday's and sundays off. I would like to schedule short trips during the day for locals (in/near Lakeland) interested in learning what's around them that they can use in the wild. We'll be making videos during some of these daytrips that might just make it here on S and P. Somebody's gotta show up the Okie! There's also talk of doing things further out in the field, so feel free if you live anywhere near Central FL to join the group, and talk up some activity!

LOL, it will be nice to watch someone else, i'm tired of hearin my head rattle as are a few others who expressed it to me recently as someone who is just trying to rack up a post count, oops just did another one!!

One of our trips could be "Campfire spam recipes" and I could make the thread over here about it called "Forum Spam"

There are many central florida people who are on survival forums. The issue is that MANY of them will not do much of anything outdoors or drive farther than 30 mins to attend a meet/greet.
Dont get me wrong, maybe it is just the events i host ( 2-3 day hikes) ....more show when car camping is involved and if you do 1 day meet me at the park events , you may get a turn out.

Will be doin' Protus. Right now, mwoliver and I will be meeting within the week to do some planning. I'm thinking that what we'll be doing will be a gateway to bigger things, like the campout, and 2 day hikes and whatnot. I want to give the chance for people to swallow their pride (when it comes to FX) with a little cake :D myself included!

Hey,
SO I have created an event for Sept 19th at 9:30 in the morning. This will be a very kid friendly event, I'll have at least two there, under the age of seven! Plan for no more than 90 minutes of outside time, and RSVP at the meetup site!

Well central Floridians, between men, wives and chirrens, we had 10 show up! mwoliver was there, and I'm going to leave a more thorough review. I'll post when I schedule the next meetup, which will be named "Fun with Paracord!"
