Had a great weekend. Great seeing old friends and meeting new folks. Classes were great as always. Special thanks to everyone for helping my wife. She's still grinning about the bow and arrow.

Thanks, I'll second the motion to Slacker by the way.
Yea but if you edit those out he wouldn't be saying anything! :D
MP3's are hard to compress much since they are already a compressed format. Maybe take out the spaces between each person would help?

The mp3 can be compressed by putting it in "windows movie maker" and reducing it when it is converted to an WMA on the audiomusic section. im dropping it to 10 mb in WMA format .... its 21 min long irrc.
upload manager here wont let it , says file is to big.
However, while im telling WMA to compress it to 10mb, total file size is 21.2mb or such once wma is done with it.Hey Petunia...you dropped your man pad!

Some difficulty figuring out how to attach a file, now that I can actually post. Apologies for the delay. There were obstacles awaiting my return home which took precedence over this.Attached Files

With finally a few moments to spare, I'll note this was a productive camp. The field-built water filter proved to be operational, a confirmation you only get from experimentation. Was it rocks first, then sand, then charcoal on top?
Likewise, knot-tying takes time and practice to learn. I'd appreciate seeing the title of the reference posted, so I could see about finding it. I think it was a game? I've been asked to make up a Christmas list and would like to put this on it.
The pellet rifle practical was similarly helpful. I had problems at Appleseed getting on target. After some time with one of the pellet rifles, I'm wondering if my earlier problems were related to the conversion kit in my rifle.
Overall, the camp offered opportunity. Whether it was camp fire time discussing topics hard to approach under polite company or trying out skills under the eye of someone who can identify where you go wrong, there was something to gain from participation. Old faces and new ones largely seemed a good sort I'd enjoy seeing at the next meet.Last edited by Guest; 12-04-2011, 01:25 PM.

Typically it's the more coarse filter media first, then finer as it goes down. I believe either way would actually work though.
Knots were great, unless it involves weapons I seem to have about a 50% retention rate on things done with my hands- mechanical type things. I have to do things like that literally dozens of times before I remember them well. I did remember the quick improvised handcuff deal though- 1 out of about 5 isn't bad LOL.
It was a great campout, lots of new faces and a chance to work on some skill sets.www.homesteadingandsurvival.com

Ok, folks, time for a new thread I think. There is a small chance I could get off time on the right weekend.
I would need to start planning now though to even have a small chance.---------------
