Suggestions on what and how many. Also what types?

  • #2
That would be tough to answer depends on where you are for what will grow and what you need or like to eat and for how many you are gonna feed and how much land you have to garden.

Try to pick things that are easy to store if you get a good crop, like squash or corn. Also consider what you can do with the produce in ways of preparing it. I planted tomatoes from seed in March when it was still pretty chilly, then it warmed up and stopped raining. Those plants sat there with no water for the entire summer in 90+ heat and when it dropped into the mid 80's, they started putting out flowers and growing again. Right now I have a boatload of tomatoes that are just starting to turn red and I'm going to try canning some of them.
